Chapter 17

Ahana's P.O.V

After describing today's events to Nidhi, I went downstairs to have dinner. My parents and Aryan were already at the table. That's weird cause usually I'll have to call Aryan and dad at least three times for dinner. I washed my hands and went to the kitchen to help mum get all the silverware. I helped her set the table and we all sat down to have dinner.

"So how'd it go?" Aryan asked me. I raised my eyebrow at him. He rolled his eyes. "Are you seriously going to play the 'I don't know what you're talking about' card?" he asked. I knew what he was talking about. I just don't want to discuss it with him. "Nope! I actually don't know what you are talking about," I said, calmly.

"I'm not doing this! Mum, ask her yourself. She's so frustrating!" he said grumpily. Wow. He gave up so early. I knew something was up when I saw everyone at the dinner table.

"Did you have fun today beta (child)?" dad asked. I nodded, "Yes I did dad," "What did you guys do?" mum asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. Ugh. "Nothing much. Just normal stuff," I said, hoping they'd let it go. But no! They had to keep the interrogation going. "Yea well mum wants you to describe all the 'normal stuff' you guys did loser," Aryan said rudely. I glared at him.

"Fine! We went to Mango and Aisha bought a bag, we then went to Marks and Spencer where Aisha bought a dress and then we left to have lunch and then they dropped me back home. Happy?" I said with a fake smile. I deliberately left out a few parts cause they don't need to know all of that.

"Oh really?" Aryan asked with a raised eye brow. "Uh ya?" I said, nodding. "I don't think you're being completely truthful sis," He said, smiling smugly. One thing for sure, he was up to mischief.

"What are you implying Aryan?" Dad asked him. "Do I tell him Ahana?" Aryan asked me with a smirk on his face. I want to punch him so bad right now. "Tell what?" I asked, gritting my teeth. "Oh you know that little kissy kissy scene which happened outside a little while ago?" he said. Oh god. No. Please no. Don't tell me he saw all of that.

I looked at him and knew that he did. "What kissy kissy?" dad asked with a confused yet stern face.

Uh oh

"Ahana and jeeju were doing funny business when he came to drop di (sister) off," He said, giggling a little. That little annoying shit.

"You kissed Rehaan, Ahana?" mum asked. One thing I like about my family is that they weren't like other Indian families who were conservative and didn't want their children to have relationships and stuff like that. My parents were fine with all my decisions until unless they were sure that I knew what I was doing.

"Kind of," I answered. I didn't really want to lie to my dad. "Kind of?" he asked with a raised eye brow. I think it's a family thing, the act of raising eye brows.

"Yea," I said. "Was that your first kiss Ahana?" mum asked. This is getting awkward. "No mum," I answered truthfully. My parents' eyes widened. Oh they're assuming that I didn't tell them about my non-existing previous relationships.

"Ahana, I wouldn't have yelled at you beta (child) if you told me when it happened," dad said. My mum nodded. She looked pretty sad. I sighed, "No dad, mum you've got it all wrong. I haven't had my first kiss yet," I told them.

They looked even more confused now. "But you said Rehaan kissed you," Mum stated. I nodded, "Yes he did. But it was on the cheek. Just a friendly kiss," I said. Aryan snorted at that. I wisely chose to ignore it.

"Ohh. So it wasn't a-" mum was interrupted by me. "No no it wasn't. Chill," I said. "It was pretty intense though. It was like some scene from a stupid chick flick. It grossed me out. He brushed her hair off and then touched her earring-"

"Okay that's enough!" I yelled, interrupting his word vomit. Must admit, he has sharp eyes. The kid was spying on me!

Mum and dad looked amused. Dad's expression changed from amusement to concern, "Ahana, Rehaan is a very nice boy. And it's a good thing if you two are getting along well. Both your mother and I really like Rehaan and approve of him"

Well obviously you approve of him; you want me to marry him! "Do we tell the Malhotra's that you have agreed to marry Rehaan?" mum asked excitedly. Whoa! I like him and all but I need a little more time. Plus, I need to talk to Rehaan about it too.

"Mum! No. I like him, I really do but I need some more time. I don't know everything about Rehaan yet and I want to talk to him too about his decision," I told my parents.

"But beta, you have your whole life to get to know him. Age is not on your side Ahana. You aren't getting younger and especially for girls, age matters," Mum said. Oh god not this again.

"I know mum, but that doesn't mean I just jump and marry someone," I tell her, sternly. My mum sighed and nodded.

"It's okay Ahana. Take your time dear. It's your life and all your decisions are respected," Dad told me. I smiled at him. I love my dad. He's been so supportive of me.

"Thanks dad," I said, hugging him. I was done with my dinner and did my dishes and was just about to go to my room when, Aryan stopped me, yelling my name.

"What?!" I asked him. He put his hands in a surrendering position and said, "Whoa! Calm down. All I wanted to say was that before you do the frickle frackle with jeeju and I'm hoping you'll do it after you're married, just remember to..." Oh god. I hate this kid so much.

"Wow you're getting red..." he said, giggling.

"Shut up Aryan!" I snapped and proceeded going to my room. "I wasn't done! I was going to say just remember to use protection!!" he yelled.

Ugh!!! I hate him so much right now.

I slammed the my bedroom door loudly so that he could hear and know that he's getting me mad.

No one spoke for a minute. Pin drop silence. Good. At least he gets it now!

"Fine!! Don't use protection! I was just looking out for you! Thinking about it now, I don't mind being an uncle!" Aryan yelled.

Ugh!

Yea yea I know I said I won't be updating frequently but I was done with the half of this chapter yesterday and I finished it today so I thought hey why not? So here ya go!
