Epilogue
One and a half years later
Ahana's P.O.V
I stared at the two lines on the stick. These two lines are going to change our lives. Our, meaning Rehaan and mine. I touched my stomach and smiled. A baby. Our baby.
"Soo?" Nidhi asked from outside the bathroom. I opened the door and gave her a smile and nodded positively. She squealed and hugged me. "Congrats! Oh my god, I'm going to be an aunt!" and squealed even more.
"Okay. I still want a sure confirmation from a hospital. I'll call Mrs Dutta," I said.
Mrs Dutta is Nidhi's aunt. She's a famous gynaecologist. I called her and asked her when I could get an appointment. I cut the call after speaking and turned towards Nidhi, "She's free this evening itself since it's Sunday. She said I can meet her in the hospital and that she'll come there too,"
"I'm so happy for you Ahana! Rehaan and you are a perfect couple, really," she said. I laughed and said, "Look who's talking. You and Biren are made for each other. By the way, when is your turn madam?"
Nidhi and Biren got married 5 months ago. It was such a beautiful wedding. She blushed and smacked my arm. "Shut up," They are so much in love and are in still in their honeymoon phase. Once, Rehaan walked in on them making out. They hadn't even closed the door. Rehaan's face was so funny when he rushed out of the same door her entered through. Even I unintentionally interrupted their lovey-dovey session once when I walked into Nidhi's room to borrow her hair dryer. It was embarrassing for me but more for them. We never let them go without a teasing session every time we met them.
"When are you going to tell Rehaan?" she asked. "Tonight. After it gets confirmed," I said.
"He knows about your morning sickness and stuff?" she asked. I shook my head negatively. "I only puked once when he was around. We both thought it was because of the food we had from the new restaurant the previous night. Then he had to leave to London for two weeks for work and I didn't tell him about my sickness because he'd get too worried about me,"
"He returned last night and was too tired so he didn't wake up when I threw up," I continued. "Didn't you have your doubts earlier?" she asked. I nodded. "I was suspicious but I wasn't sure because the vomiting was so uneven. Sometimes, it wasn't there at all so I didn't know want to think," I explained.
"Does Rehaan want a baby?" she asked. I smiled and nodded. "He likes kids. He definitely wasn't ready a year ago but I think he's ready now. He keeps playing with the kids when relatives come home and just a month ago, he told me how he wants at least a daughter and a son, so I'm positive this will be a good news to him," I said. She smiled and said, "I can't wait to see his expression!" I laughed and said 'me too'.
Later that evening...
"Where are you going?" Rehaan asked and hugged me from the back. "Over to Nidhi's" I muttered. He groaned, "Why? I'm your husband, not her," I laughed and turned around and put my hands around his neck. "Jealous?" He nodded and frowned a bit. "I miss you, I didn't see you for two whole weeks, I need love," he said, feigning a sad look on his face. I chuckled, " Your puppy-dog face isn't going to work," "Please? I'm deprived of you, I don't like it,"
I knew what he was talking about. We literally haven't had sex for one whole month. And Rehaan is used to making love at least twice a week for the past one and a half years. So this is new for him and he isn't taking it well. "I'm frustrated too, but do you see me complaining babe? No. I have to meet Nidhi, I promised her, so let go," I said trying to get his prying hands off my waist.
