Chapter 34

Ahana's P.O.V

I heard a knock on the door while I was wearing my earring. "Come in!" I said.

"Holla! Your most favorite person in the world is here!"

I sighed. "Why are you here Nidhi?" I asked feigning boredom. "Well excuse you. I am here because my supposedly 'best friend' is going to fix her engagement date today and I didn't even know." She said dramatically, her hands on her hips.

"I texted you." I stated. I texted her as soon as ma left my room.

"Well you don't say these things over a text! Gosh! Where are your manners!" she said.

I rolled my eyes. "Nidhi, you're acting like we're dating and I broke up with you over a text."

"We're close! I'm your best friend!" she said, frowning. "Isn't by choice." I muttered.

"Excuse me?" she said with a you-just-did-not-say-that look. "Nothing. I didn't say anything." I said while putting on my other earring.

"Yea good cause I did not like what I heard." She said. I rolled my eyes, "Why are you here?"

She gasped. "You're kidding right? Today is an important day! You fix the date for your engagement today! And as your best friend, I am supposed to be here with you and I'm just doing that!" she said, dramatically.

I narrowed my eyes at her and raised my left eye brow.

"Okay fine. I'm here cause I want to see your future-in-laws." She confessed.

"Future-in-laws?" I asked her. She sighed and sat down next to me. "I'm genuinely interested okay?"

I patted her back. "Oh and you know what? Rehaan has two best friends, Biren and Karan. I have seen Biren, he's pretty good looking. I don't know about Karan. He'll be there today. Maybe you will hit it off with one of them?" I suggested teasingly.

She smacked my arm. "Shut up. How come you got dressed up so fast?" She said wiggling her eye brows.

I blushed a bit but I'm pretty sure it couldn't be seen. "Unlike others, I am pretty efficient." I retorted.

"Yea you are. Only for specific people though." She said, smirking.

I rolled my eyes. As I was about to reply, mum came to us and said, " You girls gossip later. We don't want to be late. Come on!"

"Let's go." Nidhi said excitedly. I smiled slightly and got up. We went downstairs and saw that everybody was ready. Were they waiting for us?

"Yea. I think they were. And before you ask, yes, you said it out loud." Nidhi said. I sighed and we got into our cars and left for the Malhotra's.

Rehaan's P.O.V

"What time are they getting here?" Karan asked for the tenth time. This is getting annoying.

"I told you this a million times. They will be here at six." I replied while buttoning up my shirt.

"Why aren't you wearing a traditional suit?" Biren asked as he entered my room. I glared at Karan. "Tell him Karan, tell him why I am not wearing the traditional suit that mum bought." I said.

Biren looked confused. " Uhh I might have, sort of dropped my glass of grape juice on his suit." He said, looking everywhere except them.

"Yea and so, I have to stick to my office wear." I said.

Biren started laughing. "Man that's just funny. Also the Rehaan Malhotra couldn't get another suit? That's hilarious and also unbelievably unbelievable." He said.

"I could've. But this happened about ten minutes ago and they'll be here in ten. Also, all the other traditional suits I have, which are five, are not approved by my mother." I explained.

"Yea. She said 'It's too plain for such an occasion'." Karan said.

"Oh okay. And Rehaan, do you know if Ahana has any hot friends?" Biren asked me hopefully.

I rolled my eyes. "Yea! I saw Ahana's picture and she looks hot. I'm pretty darn sure she has hot friends. When are they reaching here?" Karan said.

I took the nearest pillow and hit him right on his face. He fell on my bed and Biren started laughing. "Oh god, you should'nt have said that. I did the same thing and he nearly murdered me." Biren said.

"Stop exaggerating. I did not 'nearly murder you.' And Karan, don't you dare look at her on any way other than a sister. You too Biren." I warned them.

They both kept their hands up in the surrendering position.

"Rehaan! Are you ready yet? They are five minutes away." Mum said.

"Yea aunty! He's ready." Biren yelled.

"Now I get to see her live!" Karan said excitedly. I rolled my eyes. I'm a bit nervous.

"Why do you look tense?" Karan asked. "Nothing. I'm just a bit worried. What if she says no?" I asked.

"Well since I'm here too, there might be a slight possibility that she may say no." Biren said cockily.

"Not helping Biren." I growled. "Whoa! Kidding man! She won't say no. I'm positive." He said. Karan agreed too, nodding his head.

We had no more time to talk as we heard mum say "They're here!"

"Show time!"Karan said. "Stop being dramatic." Biren said to him.

I took a deep breath and left my room. I saw Ahana there smiling at my parents. She looked breathtaking.

"Whoa! She is beautiful! And I mean that in a sister way." Karan said.

"Who's that other hot girl she's brought?" Biren asked. I didn't answer as I was completely blown by her beauty. The moment I saw mum and dad smile at her and welcome her with open arms, I knew I wasn't making a mistake.
