Chapter 31

Ahana's P.O.V

I woke up this morning wet. Yes. Wet. Completely.

Let me tell you. I was having this beautiful dream about Rehaan. And me. On a boat. Yea a boat. You know like the one in Little Mermaid? Where Ariel and Eric go on a date? Yes like that one.

And right when we were about to have the magical kiss, I was shaken awake violently.

That person jumped on me and then in a matter of few seconds, I was wet. Aryan decided it would be funny to jump on me and throw a bucket of cold water on me at six in the morning. I repeat, six in the morning.

Like what the actual fudge? The freaking moon is still out at that time!

And now I've caught a cold and am running temperature. Yea so you can imagine how cold the water was.

Of course Aryan is paying for what he did. He's in charge of the dirty dishes for the next whole week. He also has to mop the floors for two days. Our maid has left to visit her sister and newly born nephew so mum decided it would be perfect for Aryan to do her work.

I don't think it's enough. I mean I might have to cancel my date. I feel depressed.

I glare at Aryan as I go upstairs to call Rehaan. I don't feel better so unfortunately I'll have to reschedule our date. Don't want to get him sick. Ugh.

I hate this day.

I woke up at six freezing. I have a runny nose and a fever and I have to cancel Rehaan's and my date today. Worst day ever.

I dialed Rehaan's number and waited for him to pick the call.

"Hello? If it isn't important, can it wait?"

"Hey. Oh. Uhm ..okay" I said softly. "Oh Ahana? I didn't really look at the caller id. Sorry." He said.

"It's alright. I'll call you later." I said. I couldn't really hear what he said cause I was violently, very un-femininely sneezing.

"So sorry. What were you saying?" I said after the whole episode of sneezing.

"Are you okay? You sound sick." He said. I could hear the concern in his voice. I smiled.

"Uhm yea. That's why I called actually." I said, a bit sadly. "Oh. What happened? Are you alright? Did you go to the doctor?" he asked. I waited for him to complete his ranting.

"Uh Ahana? Are you okay? Oh my god. Please tell me you haven't passed out! I'll be right there." He said frantically.

"Oh whoa! Stop. I'm fine. I just waited for you to complete what you were saying. That's all. I'm totally fine." I said.

"You don't sound fine." He said. I rolled my eyes. "I am fine okay? Listen to me." I said.

I heard him sigh, "What?" he asked.

"Uhm we were supposed to hang out today right? I uh can't really make it. You know since I'm sick and all. I don't want you to get sick because of me. So uh, I guess we'll have to cancel our date." I said. My tongue tingles when I said the word 'date'.

There was silence. Did he hang up on me?

"Uh hello?"

"Oh sorry. It's fine. I understand. We'll go out when you're feeling better. Please take care." He said.

"Okay. Thanks." I said, feeling a bit disappointed. He didn't sound sad at all. Was he glad that I cancelled the date?

I sighed. "Ahana? You there?" he asked. Oh.

I hadn't cut the call yet. "Yea."

"I'm a bit busy so I'll call you later? Is that okay?" He asked.

"Yea. Okay." I said softly.

He then cut the call.

I sighed and lied down on my bed.

Rehaan's P.O.V

When she spoke, I could make out she wasn't well. And then she confirmed it by abnormally sneezing.

When she kept sneezing violently, I am not going to lie, I freaked.

But then she spoke and told me she had to cancel our date because she was sick and didn't want to get me sick too.

This girl. She didn't want to hang out because she didn't want me to fall ill. Not because she might get sicker.

I felt bad, for both reasons. One, because she was sick and two, because I can't meet her today.

But that was before I got this brilliant idea.

I told her I was busy so that I could go get something for her and visit her. We can hang out indoors too right?

I could hear the sadness in her voice. I hated it. It made me feel bad. But I was going to see her soon so.

As soon as I cut the call, I told my P.A to cancel all my meetings for today and not to disturb me unless it was an emergency.

I went downstairs and saw my driver, Raja sipping coffee.

"Raja? I need you to drive me somewhere please." I told him. He nodded. "Where to sir?"

"I'm not sure. One second." I said. He gave a weird look. I probably sounded silly.

"Hello Nidhi? What does Ahana like?.. No as in soup or?.. Oh okay. From where again?.. Yea okay. .. Fine. I'll buy you the momos.. Don't tell her anything.. Fine. Bye."

I turned to Raja. "Raja please take me to uh Mother Goose's."I said.

He gave me weird look again. "You want to go there sir?"

"Yea. I need to get something from there." I replied.

"I can go get it if you want sir." He said.

"Nah. Thanks. I want to get it by myself." I said. He gave me weird look, again. What is up with this man? Has he never seen anyone go to get food for someone?

I asked him, "Why the look Raja?"

"No offense sir, but you never get anything for anyone except for your mother and sister. So it's a bit surprising to see you get something by yourself for someone who isn't family." He said.

I looked at him. "How are you so sure that it isn't mum or Aisha?" I asked him.

"It didn't look like it sir. Your face had a different look on it." He replied.

Look? What look?

"What look? And how can you say that?" I asked him curiously.

"Sir, I've seen you since you were seven. I can make out when something is different." He said.

That is true. He had seen me since I was seven. Even his father worked for us before him.

I saw him smile. "Whatever. Let's go Raja." I said.

He nodded and got into the car.

After I sat inside the car I said, "Oh and Raja, who said she isn't family?"
