I woke up with a box of pizza under my head.

I guess that explains my cheesy dream.

I don't really remember much about how the heck that happened but all I do remember was that he ordered the right pizza.

Yup. Cheese pizza with extra thick crust and bacon bits.

I tried to deny the fact it wasn't my favourite but by the way I scarfed down half the box before he could even start his doesn't really give off that impression.

I open the lid and rub at my eyes groggily. It seemed way to early for any human to be up.

5am?? I think to myself as I eat the last slice of cold pizza. Whatever that sound was that woke me up will be sorry as soon as I locate it.

I reluctantly get off the couch and frown when I see Wes isn't there. I walk out of the living room and my feet pad against the soft wood floors.

I see a figure outside on the balcony and assume it's Wes. He's on the phone again.

I walk back down the hall and this time turn into the kitchen. I start up the coffee maker and make two cups for the both of us. It's a good thing I know he takes it black otherwise I'd most likely mess it up.

I take the two mugs in my hands and walk out the patio door stepping onto the balcony. He doesn't see me, but when I hand him the mug he mouths 'thanks' and 'good morning'.

I simply smile in return and lean myself against the railing, resting my elbows on the top and stare out at the beautiful view.

It was truly gorgeous. I could stay out here for days.

That is if I wasn't so lazy and could stand for days, which I can't and that is the very reason why I walk over the the patio swing.

"Steve. I can't just leave her I—"

He seems a bit agitated by now. I take a sip of my coffee and swing myself back and forth softly.

"No— Steve I— could you please stop interrupting me?"

I force myself to take another sip of my coffee so he doesn't hear me laugh. He's so cute when he's angry.

"I'm bringing her"

The person on the other line, Steve, says something to Wes who just nods even though it can't be seen through the phone. He hangs up and runs a hand through his hair before turning to me.

"Hey sorry about that. Did I wake you?"

I smile at him as he takes a seat next to me on the swing.

"Yeah, but it's ok. You're lucky I like you otherwise you'd be dead right now."

I say the last part with a smile and he just shakes his head and laughs nervously.

"So, I guess there's something I need to talk to you about"

I look down at my almost empty coffee mug before bringing it to my lips.

"Is it about the phone call? I'm very intrigued. Unless you're cheating on me with Steve, he seems really needy"

I attempt to make a joke to lighten the mood. Because whatever those calls were about were clearly making him apprehensive and uneasy.

he chuckles softly and pulls me in so that my head is resting on his shoulder, his arm wrapped around mine. We swing in the chair for a few moments in a comfortable silence.

"Well here's the thing, Steve needs me to go to New York. And I can't say no."

I frown and look up at him.
