16: accidentally arguing

WES' POV

"What the hell did you say to her hails?"

She laughs bitterly as she stands up from the couch.

"Don't hails me Rivers"

She looks at me and I could see the anger in her features. She was drunk.

"Don't worry, I didn't tell her what you did. I should have. I should have told her."

She shakes her head and begins pacing back and fourth.

"Hail—Hailey, just calm down, okay? Let me get you some water—"

"Wesley are you out of your fucking mind? What the hell are you still doing here? Your girlfriend just left and she's more drunk than I am! Are you not worried she's going to get into a car crash when she's driving herself home since her boyfriend is here, and die?!"

I shake my head and go to the kitchen to fill up a glass of water.

"Drink. And no, I'm not worried because she wouldn't get into a car when she's drunk"

I hand her the glass and she takes it and dumps it on the floor.

"Don't be stupid Wesley, that's what people do when they're drunk"

"Not Talia"

She rolls her eyes and tosses the cup to the ground, shattering it.

"You did this! This is all your damn fault! All of this mess,"

She gestures around her.

"Is all because of you!"

She jabs her pointer finger straight at my chest causing me to lose my balance a little.

"Hailey please—"

"No! You're lucky I didn't tell her, God Wesley you are so damn lucky that I didn't want to hurt her more than you already have"

I feel my stomach drop.

"You're such a dick Wesley, a pathetic jerk who has no consideration for anyone's feelings"

Suddenly I feel the anger building up.

"Don't blame all of this on me Hailey! You can't really be saying all of this is only my fault!"

She looks at me flabbergasted.

"Damn right it's your fault! You're the one who's in a relationship! You're the one who cheated and had sex with another girl! You fucking disgust me"

I feel the colour drain from my face.

"I didn't- I didn't—"

She rolls her eyes.

"Yeah you didn't know what you were doing, I've heard the same crap before Wesley. That Clara chick was the reason I broke off the engagement in the first place because you can't keep it in your damn pants!"

I was at a loss for words I had to sit on the couch.

"The truth is Wes, Talia is such a great, pure girl and you ruined her"

I felt a shiver run down my spine as she said that word.

"She is so genuine and pure, why would you give that up? Why the hell did you drag me into this mess? Why did you kiss me? What the fuck is wrong with you?"

I open my mouth and try to say something but nothing comes out.

"You're lucky I covered for your sorry ass. Talia doesn't deserve this. You don't deserve her."
