"Are you ready?"

Wes looked over at me with concern. Ever since I explained to him last night he's been acting extra cautious like I'll crack any second.

Rather than answering I offer him a forced smile and a small nod. The look of concern doesn't leave his face but he offers me a small nod back and grabs his keys off the counter and we make our way out of the apartment together.

The ride was extremely silent. And aside from our usual comfortable silence, this felt extremely tense.

once we got to our destination, wes parked the car and then looked over at me.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

I think about it for a while. It's been a long time, I haven't come back since the accident.

"I think it's time I visit again"

He nods and opens his door before rounding the car and opening mine for me. When I get out he takes my hand in his and we walk together towards the gate.

We walk for a few minutes, I still knew my way even after being here only once. It's hard to forget something like that. Eventually we arrived and I sat down on the damp grass next to the stone and already felt the first tear fall.

WESLEY'S POV:

I watched her kneel down and I stayed a close distance standing behind her.

"Hi dad"

I hear her whisper. She traced her fingers over his name. Richard Morrison 1974 - 2008.

I could tell she was crying by the slight shake of her shoulders, but I knew she needed time with him by herself, so I didn't approach her.

"I'm sorry I haven't visited... It— it's hard"

I see her bring her hand to her face and she wipes away stray tears. It pains me so much to see her like this knowing I can't do anything to make her suffering go away.

she mumbles a few more things to her fathers grave and I decide to step away so she can truly be alone with him. Even though she asked me here, I still feel like I'm intruding.

I walk a few short paces away to a nearby tree, I can see Talia's faint outline in the near distance, still crouched over by her father.

I couldn't shake what she had just told me out of my head. What she had gone through was so immense and had broken her. She thought that after telling me all that happened, that I would leave. Scared of the 'baggage' that came along with her. Which I found quite ridiculous. I was falling for her and I was falling hard and now I wanted more than anything to see her happy again.

I made a mental note to myself to do whatever it takes to ensure that happens.

"Wes?"

He voice brings me out of my thoughts and I look up at her from my sitting position against the tree. Immediately I stand up and search her eyes.

"I know it's kind of unconventional especially considering the circumstance and all but— you mean a lot to me and I, it's just that... do you... do you want to meet him?"

She looks up at me expectantly and I can see the exhaustion evident in her face. Her eyes were red and slightly puffy and she had tear stained cheeks, yet she never looked more beautiful. I smile at her softly and wrap my arms loosely around her.

I feel her tiny arms snake around my back as she holds me tight, close.

"I would love to meet the man who raised such an amazing person. It would be an honour"
