ahh. how I loved justice. It was my favourite dish to serve alongside tea.
Today was the day me and Hailey were going to confront Chase. It wasn't just us of course, we brought along with us one of the best lawyers Hailey claimed to know and a bodyguard who's name was Josh, just to be safe.
Oh and I didn't mean to keep us safe. God knows what I'd do once I saw that assholes face. I needed someone to keep my in check.
We left during wes' concert. I didn't want to tell him about our plans yet because I know he would try and stop me. And I was not going to be stopped.
I would tell him later, or he would find out through the media, whichever came first. I knew he would probably be mad but I was hoping the fact of what I was doing and why would he enough cause to soften the blow.
"Are you ready for this?"
Hailey looked extremely pale. And she was gripping my hand like her life depended on it.
"No, but I know we have to do it."
I smile.
"Don't worry, just let me do most of the talking if you're not comfortable okay?"
She nods her head and offers me a small smile.
By some sick coincidence, Chase was also currently in Paris so tracking him down wasn't so difficult. (Hailey had a variety of friends with very useful skill sets). We've also found a lot of useful information, enough to build a steady case and get Chases ass handed to him.
Eventually we reached his house and I was quick to open the door and offer my hand to Hailey.
"You got this"
She accepted my hand and we walked to the door, Josh and the lawyer, Malcom, following at a safe distance behind us.
I knocked rather aggressively and waited. He opened the door and was standing only in a black Tshirt and some boxers, his hair was ruffled and he had a half eaten pizza in his hand.
"Talia? What are you doing here"
He asks with a smile as if forgetting the last time we interacted he nearly ran me over with his pick up truck.
"Cut the act Chase. We aren't friends and I didn't come here to rekindle whatever lies you told me at the party"
His eyes looked directly beside me to where Hailey was standing and immediately all the colour drained from his face. I stepped in the door and everyone else walked in, closing it behind us.
"What is this? I didn't invite you guys in. You have to leave or I'm calling the cops—"
I laugh.
"Try it, buddy. I dare you. I bet the cops would love to hear about all the interesting things I found out about you"
He furrows his eyebrows.
"What are you talking about?"
He demands. Getting angrier by the second.
I look at my nails trying to seem as uninterested as possible.
"Oh, you know, just how you're a conniving abusive, aggressive, and and known offender who happens to get away with raping and beating woman."
I say bitterly.
"I'm not— I never—"
I raise my eyebrows.
"You never? You never raped anyone? Assaulted anyone? Oh? Well how about her,"
