PART ONE
TALIA'S POV
no one ever enters those stupid contests that require minimal personal information and simply state you can win an exotic trip to some exotic place.
no one. It's literally ridiculous to think you'd ever even have a chance at winning. so tell me why the one time Cole forces me to sign up for an all expense paid trip to Paris, I agree?
and I win?? I'm not complaining but ??
"C'mon Talia this is perfect! It'd be a great way for you to just travel and get some you time, you know, and not think about he who must not be named"
I roll my eyes and cross my arms across my chest. I just showed Laura and Cole the email congratulating me and confirming all my flight and hotel details.
"Wes isn't Voldemort, Laura. You can say his name without me cringing"
"Whatever, tal. You're missing the point. You need to get over Wes and this is the perfect way to do it! Think of it as like, I don't know, a gift"
I look over to Cole. Usually he's the level-headed one out of the three of us.
"What's your opinion Cole?"
He looks shocked that I asked him.
"Um-uh—I think you should, um..."
Me and Laura both look at him with anticipation and curiosity.
"I think you should go, yes"
He nods his head unsurely.
"Um, alright. That wasn't very convincing."
Immediately he waves his hands out.
"No, no! I mean it, Talia. You should go. It'll be a.... good experience"
And furrow my eyebrows. Why do I feel like Cole knows something I don't? I decide not to question it.
I run my hand under my chin and look at the contents of the email again. It says I would literally have to leave for the airport in about two hours if im going to make it to Paris by tomorrow morning.
I look over to both of my friends who are looking at me expectantly. I throw my arms up in surrender.
"You know what? Why the hell not?"

WESLEYS POV
"Wes are you sure about this?"
Hailey asks me hesitantly, concern in her voice.
I open the ring box and take one last glance at it before closing it and placing it securely in my pocket.
"I've never been more sure of anything"
And with that, I stepped out of the car door.
I walked down the brick path, my mind was whirling and the anticipation of explaining everything to Talia was almost overwhelming.
I don't think that it was until the moment my eyes met hers, that everything felt all the more real.
she was surprised to see me and looked around her as if this was some kind of practical joke. She folded her arms across her chest, possibly because of the cold, or possibly because of the slight irritation that I could see forming on her face.
