The Conversation Continues Ch.2

Five Months Before...

"Happy birthday, baby girl." Ray whispered in my ear in my room of the Conjunction House.

I opened my eyes to see him laying next to me with a big smile on his face.

"Great, you're up. Happy sixteenth birthday, baby girl." Ray kissed my forehead.

"Thank you, Ray Rat." I smiled softly. I was still so tired. The girls and I had an all night dance session last night.

"I know you're tired, but get up. You and I are spending the whole day together. No phone calls unless important. No Instagram, Twitter, or any other social media. No text messages from other people unless they're wishing you happy birthday. No talking to anyone else. It's just me and you. All day long doing whatever you want." Ray smiled.

"That seems fun." I smiled as I sat up.

"Great. And tonight, I...uh..have a surprise for you. I know you may not want to, but I--"

"Ray, I want to. Tonight. Hell, right now would be fine." I smiled and he laughed. "Tonight, it'll be really me and my baby."

"You sure? You want tonight to be the night?" Ray bit his lip.

"I'm sure. Now what should I wear?" I nodded as I walked to my closet.

After finding something to wear, Ray and I went downstairs to see Artemis, Prince, Roc, Isis, Jacob, Juno, Diggy, Prod, Jari, Jawan, Keisha, Walter, and Kenneth standing in the living room with presents.

"Happy birthday, Brittany!" They shouted.

"Thank you." I smiled.

"Turn up! You're sixteen. Happy sweet sixteen." Isis squealed.

"OMG, who's ready for the Sweet Sixteen party to put all parties to shame?" Artemis smiled. "I have been planning this party for months! I had so many people to fly in, had to cancel some things, had to book some things, and I still had to make the grand entrance amazing. All under a few thousand dollars budget. But I did it, and you're party will be sm-ash-ing!"

"And we belive you. But for now, put the gifts away. She'll look at them during the party. Me and my baby are going out for the day." Ray said and pulled me out the door.

The day was so much fun. Ray took me everywhere possible. Laser tag, go karting, dancing, eating, shopping. Everywhere in under six hours!

About six we had to go back to the Conjunction House so I could get ready for my party. Artemis was scolding me and Ray at my dirty appearance. After I told a shower and washed my hair, Artemis had Alexa do my hair and makeup for my party. Apparently, she went with a Sweet Shop Sugar Dream theme. Like Katy Perry's album cover for Teenage Dream. It was supposed to be pink gum and cotton candy with dum drops and sugar plums.

I don't like to complain, but I didn't really like it. But it's cool, I know Artemis went through a lot to get it all done.

"Who do you have for entertainment?" I asked Artemis as I put on my party gown. It was a full length nude pink ball gown with a candy tiara, gloves, and a sipitar.
