Chapter 38- New Year 2015

December 31, 2014 (New Year's Eve)

Artemis

"Artemis, wake up." Prince pushed me softly.

"Why?" I muttered.

"Because people are starting to come." Prince said and I sat up. I was just sleeping on a pew at church. Tonight we have Watch Service. We end the year in church and start the new year in church. I think it's a great way to start the new year.

"Okay." I nodded, yawned, and stretched before getting up and going to the pew we usually sit on.

Soon service started.

"I want who feels the will to, just to tell us all what you are greatful that God has done for you." Pastor Kirk said. Two women of the church stood. When they both finished, I got up and everyone clapped.

"As everyone knows, my sister and I become famous over two years ago. I've seen so much and have been so many places. And I just thank God that I am still as humble as I was before I started. That He has kept me and that I have made so many friends that have never wavered. I also thank Him for my talents to begin with. The talents He gave me more than fifteen years ago have made me who I am. And I thank Him every moment because I could just be another nameless person who was never seen by millions. But even still, I thank Him because He's given me and my friends the opportunities to have our voices be seen. I thank Him for just letting me and my friends be here." I said. Everyone clapped.

"Uh, yeah. Our friends are watching the service right now from a live uStream we set up from back there. They wanted to attend but couldn't get a flight here." Juno said quickly before sitting down. I sat down with her.

"I'm happy they could join us." Pastor Kirk smiled.

Pastor Kirk preached about letting go of the extra baggage. He even had two garbage bags and was kicking them around. At 11:57, everyone who could, got on their knees to pray. Prince placed his hand on top of mine as we prayed. At 12:03, everyone stood and clapped as we all made it into the new year.

"Happy New Year!" We all shouted. Everyone went around, hugging each other and saying Happy New Year.

"When are you leaving?" Fatima asked.

"Later this morning." Jacob stretched.

"Why so early?" Kevin asked.

"Because we need to get to New Orleans, drop off the rental car, and make our flight to L.A by 10." Prince sighed. "The drive back should be faster, though."

"Yeah." I nodded as I yawned. "I really don't wanna go, but we have to. The girls and I are starting our own fashion line, we have to finish the album, and we shows and interviews that need to be done."

"The life of a super star." Kirk did jazz hands. "I'm going to miss you guys."

"We'll miss all of you more." Juno smiled.

"We have to go." Jacob said as he checked his phone. "Our flight for moved up."

"What?" I groaned. "See you guys soon."

We went around the church hugging everyone. When Juno and I got to Daddy, we were almost in tears. Leaving and saying goodbye is the hardest part.

"We'll call you when we make it to the New Orleans." Juno and I said at the same time like we did when we were younger.

"Okay. Be safe." He hugged us tighter before letting go. He shook Jacob's and Prince's hands before we left. We got into the rental car that had all of our bags in it and started for the highway.
