Mid December 2014

Artemis

"We're going to work." Daddy said into Sarayi's room as Juno and I slept. Sarayi was already at school.

"Hmm." I mumbled. As soon as I heard the front door close downstairs. I flees down the stairs for the living room. Prince and Jacob were sleep on the couch. "Aww. They look so peaceful."

I smirked and pushed Prince off the couch. He landed in the floor with a thud.

"Artemis! What the heck?!" Prince shouted, waking Jacob up.

"Just because you're sleeping here for the next two weeks doesn't mean you're gonna stay in my favorite spot in the house." I said as I turned on Netflix. "Vampire Diaries or Pretty Little Liars?"

"Vampire Diaries I guess." Prince sighed as he picked up my legs and sat down, placing my legs in his lap.

"I didn't ask for this wake up call." Jacob groaned and went back to sleep.

"Why did you wake him?" Juno asked as she walked downstairs.

"Aint nobody tell him to open his eyes." I shrugged as we watched Vampire Diaries.

The rest of the day was boring as we watched Netflix. Sarayi came home around 11AM. She changed out of her school clothes and watched TV with us. She, Prince, and Jacob got to know each other as we watched different things all day. By the time Marcia and Daddy got home, we were all so bored.

"What's with the long faces?" Marcia asked.

"Netflix only entertains for so long." Jacob sighed.

"Don't you have money and a car? Go somewhere." Daddy said.

"Oh yeah!" I smiled.

"Use your head." Daddy tapped my forehead as I laughed.

On Sunday before Christmas, Marcia had the youth of the church do a Christmas program. Juno was over the audio and music as Jacob, Prince, and I sat in the audience watching.

"They're amazing." Prince whispered to me as the children sang. I just nodded as they finished.

Soon, the announcements were said and everyone went in the back to eat.

"Where are you going?" Juno stopped Jacob from going to the back.

"I'm going to eat." Jacob said like it was obvious.

"No, you're going to meet some people, let others eat, then eat." Juno said, pulling Jacob to Fatima Mitchell, the paster's daughter.

"I'm coming." Prince smiled at me. We danced over to Fatima and her husband, Kevin.

"Hi Fatima! Kevin!" I smiled.

"Artemis." Fatima smiled and hugged me. "You look so beautiful."

"Thank you. You look amazing I'm that dress." I said.

"Why thank you. Who's this good looking gentleman?" Fatima asked, looking at Prince.

"Jacob Perez. Artemis's boyfriend." Prince smiled and shook Fatima's hand then Kevin's.

"You guys are kinda short." Kevin laughed.

"You, too. So we're cool." Prince laughed. Jacob joined them.

"Is that Artemis and Juno?" Kirk Mitchell, the pastor's son and Fatima's brother, asked. Kirk is dark skinned and really, really tall.
