Isis

"Guess what?!" Artemis ran into the house with Prince behind her. Miss Wendy, Juno, and I were watching Meet The Browns together in the living room.

"What did you do?" Miss Wendy asked.

"I bought a house!" Artemis squealed.

"What?" We asked.

"You ain't eighteen girl. Go sit down somewhere with that mess." Miss Wendy scuffed. Artemis looked like she wanted to go off on her mother, but she held it in.

"Momma, I bought the house in your name. I forged your signature. Come on. I'ma show you the house." Artemis said as she grabbed Miss Wendy's hand. "Everyone! Let's go!"

Prince wrapped an arm around Juno and I and lead us to Miss Wendy's car that Artemis was driving. We all got in the backseat and Artemis started driving.

She drive close to the bridge, but turned into a neighborhood that had really big, elaborate houses.

"Jacob, what did she do?" Miss Wendy gasped as Artemis stopped the car. She got out and stood in front of the house.

"Ta da! It's yours, Momma!" Artemis shouted with the keys in her hands.

Miss Wendy took the keys and opened the door. We all walked in as Artemis and Prince grinned in pleasure.

"Two stories, Five bedrooms, three bathrooms, big kitchen, living room, laundry room, a sitting room, big storage room, garage, bug back yard, and two extra rooms we can make our dance studio and recording studio." Artemis told Miss Wendy, waiting for her acceptance.

"What do you want me to say, Artemis? Great job on buying a house I didn't even look at before now?" Miss Wendy said with thin lips.

"Wow. I got this house for you, Momma! I thought you wanted to move away from there! You always have said that. I got my licence so we could move away by now and we could drive ourselves to school. Momma, I'm just trying to give you the things you want. I'm trying!" Artemis sobbed. "I'm trying."

"Artemis, have you ever thought about buying a house in name? My credit is no where near good, okay? What will I do with this big house when you leave in December? I'm just gonna sit around here by myself all day?" Miss Wendy spit.

"The house is actually in Miss Teresa's name. I knew she would love to help you in anyway possible. And Poppy will be back to visit you. So don't worry, your favorite children will be here to keep your company." Artemis spat coldly before walking out of the house. I ran after her.

"I try so hard, Isis. I try so hard to be what she wants me to be, but I can't! I can't be what she wants!" Artemis sobbed when I caught up with her.

"I know, Artty. I know. You can never be actually what she wants. You can only ever be you and no ones wants you to be anything else. We want you to be you. She just wants you to be the best you, you can be." I hugged her tightly as I saw something, or rather someone that made me want to rip their throat out.

"Isis?" Roc's head tilted to the side as he stepped out of a house with no one but Shaniya.

"Roc?" Artemis sniffed and wiped her tears. Roc jogged over to us with a goofy grin on his face as Shaniya stared at us from her front door.

"Hey Greek Goddess!" Roc hugged Artemis tightly.

"Wow. I haven't heard that nickname in so long." Artemis laughed as they let go of each other.
