I was released from hospital 1 week later after being officially diagnosed with schizophrenia and being prescribed a crap load of medication. I didn't realise just how bad it is. Okay I did, I mean medication wise. I can't even swallow a panadol let alone 3 massive pills that take up the size of 1/4 of your pinky finger. This has brought Michael and I closer, which is weird. But at the same time I absolutely love it. I can finally talk to him and even though he may not listen all the time he wont yell and scream lots of different names at me, so that's an improvement.

Today is my first day back at school after resting at home yesterday and having heaps of questions from mum. Lucky Michael thought of a cover and got all of his friends in on it as well. I just had to go along with it. Which - of course - I did. I wasn't gonna bail on him when he needs me most from saving his butt getting in trouble. He's going to help me with my schizophrenia, the least I can do is cover for him.

I walk through the door after mum drops me off. She was heading into work later (She's an oncall nurse and a cleaner at the old run down motel) Michael gets a ride in with his friends every morning - that way he can sleep in. 

I see the familiar faces but looking for one in particular, Hannah. I look everywhere for her and finally find her with a group of girls and guys I don't know. Duh, haven't been here for like a week. She sees me and immediately runs over.

"KATELYN!!!!!!! WHEN HAVE YOU BEEN!?!?! I'VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" She screams while pulling me in a tight hug. She shakes our bodies from left to right while screaming and asking why I've been missing. You know, the typical questions you well at your best friend when she misses a day of school.

"I was busy with family problems. My mum was angry at me and threw my phone at a wall, which is why I couldn't tell you." Lies flow so freely (plus i thought of a cover story when looking for her.)

"Oh my gosh. At least your here now! Come meet these guys. This is Cole (Dude), Jennifer (Girl), Rebecca (Girl), Dalton (Dude), Ruby (Girl), Simon  (Dude) and Miyka (Dude). Guys this is Katelyn" Wait a minute. These guys are the populars. How did Hannah even get into this circle

"So Katelyn,"Jennifer starts to say. "Out of the four bad boys, which one do you think is the cutest. Hannah and Ruby think Ashton, I think Michael and Rebecca thinks Calum." Oh, so this is how she got in.

"Uhhh, I don't really think any of them are cute." Okay lie. All are cute, but they are my brothers best friends. I really don't wanna give my opinion on this ((A/N: Luke)).

"Come on. You have to think one of them is cute. Like seriously." Rebecca says. Chewing her gum loudly.

"Nah, none of them to be honest."

"Well if you don't think any of them are cute. Don't bother trying to sit with us at lunch. Come on Hannah." Ruby says before all the girls leaving. The boys soon follow suit, engaging in their own conversation. Hannah looks at me, then the group of student, before following them.

I stand there shocked. She just. But she just. How? Why? I can't even comprehend what just happened. The bell goes and I head to homeroom, prepping myself for a day of loneliness.

Lunch

I start heading to the field to eat my lunch alone when I walk past Michael. *Light bulb*

"Hey Michael." He turns around and quickly searches before finding my eyes. He raises his eyebrows and I walk over to him. "Would it be okay if I maybe joined you for lunch?" Please don't judge, please don't judge.

"Why?" He looks at me suspiciously.

"Because my only friend Hannah ditched me for the popular and the're not letting me eat with them because I didn't say which one of your friends is hotter."

"What? That's bull."

"I know! They were making me choose between you and the other three and I said none of you are cute because I thought that was and awkward questions and they ditched me." My tone started off happy but quickly dropped near the end. 

Michael slings his arm around me and pulls me along as he walk to the cafeteria. 

"I'm sure they wont mind. They quite like you, ya know." Sweet. In with my brothers best friends.

We walk into the cafeteria and several stare, including Hannah and them. I see Hannah's mouth drop as I walk with Michael to his friends table (Which is basically reserved for them). After a quick greeting and reasoning they just carry on and I just sit with them. Once they finish that conversation they start including me and I don't feel as awkward.

All I can think is: Suck it populars.
