Katelyn____

I was confused at Michael's words. What did he mean we should worry about Luke's parents? Surely they should be safe, possibly crowded in some town community hall with many others who's homes have been damaged in the flood. Or they were stuck in cars with a near over flowing river bank threatening to take them away. Were they missing? Had they been seriously injured? They should've listened to Luke when he said that it was a bad idea to go.

"What's wrong with my parents?" Says a curious Luke. His features show worry and concern as he takes in Michael innitial words.

"Entire town centre, flooded. Quite a lot of shops have had their contents spilled out onto the road, only to be ruined by the water. Sorry I took so long, I was semi water-proofing our place. The water was just below the door frame."

"Has there been any reports of deaths? My parents live pretty close to the centre of town. Just two blocks out from the town hall." Luna says.

"I only looked from city view park. Rain clouded my view but I was incredibly bad. No one go out there until this all dies down and the water starts rushing away." He takes the two bottles of pills that I was holding and places them on the highest shelf in the kitchen possible. "Grab a chair." I do and pass it to him. he puts it on the ground right by his feet. "Stand up on it and try to reach the pills." I do, with luck and climbing on the bench, I produce two bottles of pills.

"The cupboard above the fridge. She wouldn't be able to climb on anything to get to the far one." Ash suggests. He was correct. Even if I jumped, I couldn't reach them.

"Good. No more running through the rain." Michael comments. We then all sit down on the couch in utter silence. No one's really sure what to do. It was only around 8:00 am. The rain had eased off, there was no thunder and lightning, but it was still falling down. No one had a charged phone. Wait...

"Michael, do you still have my phone? We could access the radio on it?" He shakes his head.

"I tried already, battery died last night. I had the same idea as you." Again, silence fills us. It wasn't a peaceful silence, nor an awkward silence. Just silence.

That was it. Silence. I get up and walk over to the window and sure enough, no dark clouds. Only crappy grey ones that rid us of the sun. No drops of water fogging up the view. I spin around the face the others. Confusion evident on their faces.

"What?" Calum asks.

"Silence." I grin.

"So?" Luke questions.

"Rain, not making noise." I make clearer. They all stand up and look out the windows. Sure enough, they see it's not raining. I look at Luna and smile before I run upstairs and she follows. I hand her some old clothes and we quickly change into our make shift swim wear before running down stairs and out the door. They guys start yelling out to us and our response is running and splashing through the water that surrounds the house. We splash, play and run as if it were snow, squealing like little kids. The water was waist deep, the height of the highest step leading up to the doorway into the house. Close, but not enough to enter the house.

Hands push my shoulders as I'm shoved into the water. When I stand up, Ashton is running off to do the same thing to Luna. She goes down with a squeal.

The other three boys rush out and soon we are all playing in the rain as if it were the beach or a swimming pool. Very quickly we are all drenched and playing around until finally the sun started peaking out from behind the clouds. A unanimous decision leaves us exploring the town in hopes to find Liz and Andrew. Michael wasn't kidding about the city centre. We waded through, helping anyone we could in hopes to find our lost ones faster.

We decided to stop by 'the flat' because Ash said there was still some food left and we could stop for lunch. We hadn't realised how much time had passed until we saw the clock in the town. As we arrived at their flat, Michael noticed the waterproofing had been moved and changed to look out of place. Looked horrible anyway in my opinion. Luna and I were placed behind three boys with Calum stationed behind us, just in case it was an intruder.

Instead of an intruder though, it was just the friendly (and also scared and shocked) faces of the Hemmings' parents. We agree to wait at their place before continuing else where. Waiting on the water to calm down because some streets were as raging rapids and we were already soaked enough. No one wanted to be rescued because of stupidity.

We caught up with Liz and Andrew, telling them about what had happened before they replayed their events back to us. A bridge on their route out of town had collapsed and they didn't want to risk ANYTHING.

"Oh no!" Luna Yells. "My parents. They must be worried. I never went home! We even walked near my place and I didn't think to stop by."

"Relax, I'm sure everything will be fine. We can drop you off on our walk back. It's better you safe than risk going home and get injured. Speaking from a mothers point of view of course." Liz stares at Luke before he puts his arms up in a defensive position. "And Michael. I understand you have a great love for your sister but really? Heading out in the middle of a storm? Perhaps you should be the one taking the pills." I laugh while he looks at the ground when Liz decided to scowl him.

"Okay honey. Let's calm down," Andy starts. "Anyone know where I can get a deck of cards? I have a game that we could all play. It's called 'Mafia.'"
