I was still angry at Katelyn. She kept stuff hidden from me. I would understand if it was something minor like failing a class, you can always better that. What did I do that made her not trust me? Does she hate me? I was sitting in the room with her and dad, they were catching up on missed times over the past 15 years. I was only in the room to stop mum from entering, if she came in and I was in here, I could get her out easier. I don't even know why she's here. She lost custody over Katelyn after the court meeting that SHE wanted. 

Dad was laughing at a story Katelyn had shared. I smiled at them. I couldn't stay mad at Katelyn for long, but I made a mental note to have her explain everything in immense detail as to why she didn't tell me about the attacks. She could've had her life ended sooner than any of us were expecting and we wouldn't have known she was a suicidal sufferer. Just a schizophrenic.

The door creeks open and Calum's head pops in. "Uh, mate. We got a problem." I look at Dad and Katelyn and they seem to not notice that Calum was there. I walk out and see what the problem was. Mum was talking to the police and pointing at me. Well this can't be good. "They ain't pointing at you mate, they're talking about Katelyn. Something about a mental hospital. " Calum whispers. I look at him confused before walking over. Sure enough I heard mental hospital and Katelyn in the same sentence.

"Is everything okay?"I ask. Looking between the police officer and my mum. 

"Well sweetie. We were just discussing how maybe it would be best for Katelyn to spend sometime in a mental hospital so that she can recover and be monitored constantly to stop here from having another 'attack.'" Mum explains.

"Who gave you the right to decide what goes on with her? I remember the judge removing Katelyn out of your custody. She's in the care of the Hemmings, you don't get the right to decide what goes on in her life. Liz and Andy make that decision."

"What decision?" Liz pipes up as she walks over.

"SHE wants to send Katelyn to a mental hospital." I seethe.

"Well, as far as we know, Katelyn hasn't had a serious attack that has led her to attempt suicide. I think after this, Michael will be constantly with her. I think, for now, she will be fine."

"Well, if that is the case, then I will be going. Sorry for the interruption." The officer walks away and I turn to mum.

"You called the police?"I whisper-yelled at mum.

"Well she is a freak. She belongs with her 'people'." She jokes. Mum walks away and I'm left with Liz.

"Come 'ere." She says and pulls me down into a hug. A few tears escape my eyes that have built up over the past few hours at the hospital. It's around midnight and I think it's all getting to me. "Mike, I need to ask you something."

"What is it Liz?" I remove myself from her embrace and look at her in the eyes.

"I talked to Katelyn, and Andy wants your permission before we go forward with it," I look at her confused. "We want to adopt Katelyn."

I stare at her. The Hemmings want to actually adopt Katelyn?"

"She would still be your sister, and if you want she can still have your last name. We just want her to know that she has a family and a home she can always return to if needs be."

"That's, that's amazing. Thank you. She deserves to know that people care for her and she can always have a home." Liz smiles at comment before walking over to Andy and calling Luke over. Must be telling them the news. Out of the corner of my eye I see dad walk out of Katelyn's room and see Ash quickly enter in his place. Wonder what he's doing? I'm about to follow him when I see mum try and sneak away. I decide to follow her.

Katelyn_____

After a catch up with my dad, which was really cool meeting him for the first time. Even if it was at hospital, he walks out and just as he leaves, Ashton enters. "Hey."

"Hey Ash. Everything alright?"

"Yeah, just wanted to make sure you're okay. I sort of feel responsible."

"If any one is to be blamed, it's me. I kept this from Michael when I shouldn't have. I was being stupid and wasn't thinking clearly when I decided to keep attacks a secret from him."

"Why did you? If you don't mind me asking of course."

"I didn't want to seem needy, you know? I would be going to him every day saying I had an attack and that just looks pathetic. They weren't big ones so I thought they didn't matter."

"Well, you've really shocked Michael. He's angry as well. But just know, that doesn't mean he doesn't care. If anything, I think he cares more."

"How can I gain his trust back? I think I've shattered it by not telling him everything."

"You're going to have to talk to him about that." Ash turns to leave but I quickly call out to him.

"Ash."

"Yeah?"

"Don't blame this on yourself alright. You saved my life. Don't think you triggered this." He smiles.

"You get some sleep alright? It's late. Around quarter past midnight." I smile back at him before getting comfortable to be able to sleep.

As I walk back to the room after seeing mum sneak off with a man, Ash walks out of Katelyn's room. "Everything alright?" I ask.

"Yeah, just making sure she's all right. Asking if I was the reason she was in there and she told me she blames herself. Told her to get some rest." I nod at what Ash's saying and look through the small window in her door and see her laying down, possibly asleep. "Mike, you need to talk to her. She wants to gain your trust back. She needs you now more than ever. Whatever you choose to do, you have all of our support. I recommend no mental hospitals though."

I sigh before answering him. 

"I will, when she's awake. I'll figure something out. I just need to know that she won't lie to me again, ever. About anything and everything." I stare at her and think about all that's happened. Ash walks away and I'm left alone by her door. "You just gotta be honest with me Katelyn. That's all I ask."
