"We are here to avenge the boss and defeat you once and for all!" James says trying to sound noble. I send out Blastoise and have him use Hydro Pump. Team Rocket blasts off yet again. "You know that's not the last of those knuckle heads, right?" Leaf asks. "I know. But they just landed in Lavender Town. It'll be a while before they get back to bug us." I say as I return Blastoise to his poke ball. "Still not a word muttered to your Pokémon. Doesn't it put a toll on you for using your powers like that?" Brock asks. Ellie and Leaf answer in unison in a nagging tone "Yes it does!" "Guys, I've been working on it since the first time that happened. I'll be fine." I say slightly annoyed while also trying to get them not to nag me anymore about that. "Well, it's good to see that you've definitely gotten stronger than when we battled." Brock says smiling.

We say our goodbyes to Brock and headed in through Victory Road and finally made it to the Indigo Plateau. "William, you go first. You'll make easy work of them and get to the Champion before I even get through the first member. Plus, I want to take the Champion title from you." Leaf said. I smile competitively. I'm about to walk through the door when an old friend shows up. "Mewtwo? What are you doing here?" I asked. "This is the big battle, is it not? I'm here to fight by your side!" He says as he bows in respect. "Then lets get to it. Ellie, hold on to Pikachu." I say tossing her the poke ball. We go in and like Leaf predicted, I made easy work of the first three. When I got to Lance, I started to have some difficulty. "The Legendary Trainer having difficulty fighting me? I'm honored to be considered such a formidable opponent." Lance said. Mewtwo was switched in and I defeated Lance easily after the struggle. "You have one more opponent. You might actually know him." Lance said as he opened the door.

When I entered the Champions room, I didn't recognize the person who was waiting for me. The boy was only a year or two older than I am with red hair and dark purple clothes. When I got to the field, I asked him, "Might I ask just who are you?" "My name is Silver. I'm from the Johto Region. Johto shares the Indigo Plateau with Kanto. I just became the Champion yesterday. You look like a strong trainer, but I will not go down easily." Silver explained. He grabbed a Poke ball and threw out a Gengar. "Mewtwo, you ready?" I asked through telepathy. "Yes. Let us defeat this trainer." Mewtwo replied as he went onto the field. Mewtwo ran through Silver's Gengar & Crobat easily. Silver sent out a Pokémon I had never seen before on my journey. I knew that Mewtwo couldn't beat it. "Charizard, let's finish this." I said as I tossed a Poke ball. Silver looks angry & as if he can't understand how I'm beating him. The Sneasel goes down after one Fire Blast.

Silver snaps. "I will not let someone like you take this from me. I am the strongest trainer!" I start shaking my head at him. "No, you aren't. There's one trainer who is so much stronger than you, there is a legend based around him." I say. He sends out an Alakazam in pure rage. "What do you know? I could be ten times better than him and you'd never know. You have probably never met him." Silver says in absolute rage. Charizard destroys the Alakazam. I pull Charizard out as Silver sends a Magneton. I send out Venusaur and say "I am the force of nature who protects Pokémon from those who would seek to misuse and mistreat them for a persons personal gain. I am the Legendary Trainer! And I will defeat you and teach you a lesson you so desperately need." My eyes start glowing and Silver grows terrified at me as we battle. Venusaur struggles, but beats Magneton as Silver cowers in fear of my stare. He sent out another Johto Region Pokémon that I remember from seeing the starters. "Silver, this partner of yours is fearful of you. She worries that if she isn't good enough, you will toss her away like all the others. That is not how a trainer should treat his Pokémon. You need to learn that your Pokémon are creatures with feelings just like you. They feel every negative emotion you do when a trainer abandons them. Pidgeot, help me teach this lesson." I say while bringing Pidgeot out.

Silver fought me while he was contemplating what I said. I beat him and he walked over to Meganium. He fell down and lay across Meganium's neck and started to weep. "I'm sorry Meganium. I promise I'll change." Silver says as he cries hysterically. "She said she knows you will and will always be there for you." I comforted him. Meganium pressed its head against Silver. I sat there with them and comforted them. As time passed, Leaf walked into the Champion's arena. She notices how we're all sitting and stands quietly. Mewtwo explained the situation to her and she joins us. After a while, Silver gets up and says "William, you're now the Champion. Let's record the team and then you can face the challenger." "I'll record my team, but you face her. I'm not going to be the Champion who faces every challenger. I leave that job to you." I said as I headed towards the Hall of Fame.

I met Ellie outside and hugged her. "I won. Leaf is fighting now." I said before Ellie started kissing me passionately. Despite the agreement we all made about Ellie and I showing affection, I didn't stop her from kissing me in this manor. Leaf comes out with a satisfied, but furious look on her face. She pushed me away from Ellie and started to punch me in the face and arms as she asked "How could you not let me fight you for it?" Tears fell down her face as she let out her frustration. As I stopped her from hitting me again, I told her "That's not my job and you know it! My job is to stop those who would misuse Pokémon for their own selfish desires." She frowns because she knows that I'm right. "Alright. Now that that's settled, we have to keep moving. Next stop, Johto!" I exclaimed while punching the air.
