My tenth birthday came around and I couldn't wait to start my journey. My mom was a little worried about me going out on my own, but I told her "If I ever run into problems, I could always call on one of the Legendary Pokémon to help me get out of trouble. Don't worry, Mom, I've learned how to control my powers well enough to keep me safe." She was a little bit convinced with this reassuring statement. I went to the Professor's lab, which seemed like a second home to me since I spent so much of my life there. "Hello William, are you ready to start your journey?" Professor Oak asked me. "Born ready!" I exclaimed as I was getting so excited.
"Well, like I told you a few months ago, I have two surprises for you. One is that you don't have to choose your partner Pokémon, because I'm giving you all three." Professor Oak said as he called the Poke balls from the storage center to the pedestal in between us. "I don't understand. Why are you giving me all three?" I asked. "Well, you've put up with so much from me in testing your powers, I thought I'd give you a well deserved gift and this was the best way I could think of. Besides, I remember when I asked which you thought you would choose, you couldn't choose because you loved all three." Professor Oak explained. He went over towards his computer to grab a device that I thought was a paperweight. "This is the second surprise that I made for your journey. It's a stylus similar to what Pokémon Rangers use, but it is to help you right out your symbols for the Legendary Pokémon." Professor Oak told me as he attached it to my right wrist.
"How do I use it?" I asked. "Just say 'Stylus on' and call out the Legendary Pokémon that you want to summon and it will do the symbol for you. I pre-programed the symbol designs into it. It also has a manual mode and a register mode, just in case you come across a Legendary Pokémon that you haven't ever drawn the symbol of before." Professor Oak told me. I hugged him so tight because I was so happy that he thought this much about me. Along the way of the tests and everything, Professor Oak became like a father figure to me since my dad left soon after I was born. Professor Oak knew that I felt this way and hugged me right back. "Alright William, take this Pokedex and be sure to call me if you ever come across something that you have questions about." "Thanks Professor. One question before I leave. Are you working on that one project I suggested last year?" I asked. A year ago, I asked Professor Oak about if he could make me a suit of armor that would conceal my identity while I acted as the Legendary Trainer so that I could keep my two identities separate until I was ready to reveal to the world who I was.
"We are working on it. There's just one thing I need to ask about your design." He said as he pulled up the blueprints I made on the computer. "On the helmet, you made it look as if you wanted to raise the visor from your eyes so that you could stare straight at anyone while still covering your face. Is that right?" Professor Oak asks me. "Yes, that's right. I had a dream about a new power that I could use that would require me to uncover my eyes to look at someone. The suit can withstand the worst weather conditions, right?" I asked. "Yes, we just needed to know about the helmet before we proceeded in completing it." Professor Oak said as he shut off the computer.
I went on my way through Route 01, where I found someone that I hadn't seen or heard from in years. "Red? Is that you?" I asked. He looked at me with the same stare from a few years ago. When I first met Red, it was after I used Zapdos to take me away from a test when I was six or seven. I found his Charmeleon in Viridian Forest. I recognized it, and he recognized me from when he spent some time at the Professor's lab. I ended up saving Charmeleon from being abducted by the leader of Team Rocket. "My, my, how you've grown up." Red said to me. "It feels like just yesterday that I had a five year old battle with my Charmeleon against Giovanni. You look good for a starting out trainer." "It's good to see you again too, Red. What are you doing back near Pallet?" I asked him.
