On our way to Saffron, we were stopped by the last of the Legendary Dogs. Suicune was standing in front of us, ready to attack with rage. I used my powers to calm it down and I managed to draw the symbol to fully calm it down before I passed out. When I woke up, Entei, Raikou, and Suicune were with the guardians watching over me. Again, someone thought it was a good idea to take me all the way back to Pallet Town for me to rest. Leaf came in to check on me. "Why is it every time I wake up from that kind of incident, we're in Pallet?" I asked. "We panicked, we didn't know where else to go." Leaf said. I was still too tired to argue with her. I asked, "Someone capture Suicune in a Poke ball or did it just come along with?" "That fact, you'd find amazing when you hear what happened." Leaf said. I waited for her to explain, but she wanted to be suspenseful. "Could you quit with the suspense and just tell me?" I asked.
"Ellie grabbed one of the Poke balls out of your bag right when you passed out. She spoke to Suicune and said that you needed it to get in the Poke ball to return it and it's siblings to their home, but only after you get healed. She caught a powerful Pokémon on her own. I was shocked beyond all belief when I saw it. The dogs helped to get you here." Leaf said. I still had to process all of that. "Ellie captured Suicune by herself?" I asked. Clefairy came in and heard me say that. "Yes. It surprised me too. She's learned so much from you. I can also tell that she has very strong feelings for you." Clefairy said to me. Ellie came in and everyone tried not to make eye contact. I couldn't help but laugh a little at that fact. Ellie looked at me and said that she was happy that I was making a speedy recovery this time. "Usually, you're unconscious for two to three days. Now, you've only been out for a day."
"Two to three days?" I asked the Pokémon telepathically. Now, they all tried not to make eye contact with me. Ellie looked at me and asked if everyone could leave the two of us alone. Leaf took everyone out of the room, but I could sense that they were just outside the door. I used my control power to make Aggron get everyone out of the lab. This was the first time I wasn't ever looking at the Pokémon I took control of when I did it. "William, we've been through a lot together since we met in Pewter City." Ellie said. I sat still, wondering where this was going. "I was wondering what you thought about me." She continued. I thought, "This is where I die." I hadn't given it much thought and I tried to make sure that she couldn't see that I was confused or anything. "It's morphin time!" I said so that the armor would cover my face so that she couldn't tell what I was thinking.
I honestly didn't know what I felt for Ellie. I mean, she had become one of my best friends. She was the first girl I told my secret to. But, I don't think that I could feel the way she was implying. I mean, I'm ten years old! I finally decided what I would tell her. "Ellie, I feel that you're my best friend since I started my journey." I said. Before I continued, she asked me to take the armor off because she could hardly understand me. "Power down!" I said. I repeated myself so that she understood. She seemed content with this answer. What happened next, I never expected. Ellie smiled at me and kissed me. Thank goodness my mom came in. I didn't care about the lecture I'd get after the fact, I just wanted some excuse to get Ellie off of me.
Unknown to me at the time, Pidgeotto was experiencing all of this at the same time I was and told everyone what was going on. Lugia translated for Leaf. My mom got Ellie to leave. After Ellie left, mom realized that I wanted her to do that. "What in the world was going on in here?" Mom asked. A general type response from her about what she saw. I explained to mom and expressed how I wanted her to get Ellie off of me so that I didn't hurt Ellie's feelings. "What are you going to do?" Mom asked me. "I don't know. Avoid that situation again at all cost, for one. But I don't know what to do to make that not happen again without things being awkward between us." I said. Leaf came in and accused me of kissing Ellie. "How in the world do you know about that?" I asked.
"Your guardian was wigging out and wouldn't stop talking for some time. Lugia finally told me what it was saying and told me that you and Ellie kissed." Leaf explained. "Lugia," I called. "How did Pidgeotto know what was going on if all of you were not able to see it or hear it?" I asked. "Your link to your guardian. He experienced everything that went on through your mind and told everyone as it happened." Lugia explained. "I'm seriously done for." I said. I just sat there like I was being shamed more severely than anything I could imagine. I told Leaf to never tell Ellie that she knows what happened. "Fine, but you have to make sure she doesn't kiss you again." Leaf said. "Why? Why do you even care about the whole thing?" I asked. Leaf just stormed off angry.
"What did I do this time?" I asked her Venusaur. "You don't see it, do you?" Venusaur asked me. "What am I supposed to see?" I asked. Mom is sitting there slightly confused cause she can't hear Venusaur. "Leaf has feelings for you like Ellie does and like you have for Ellie. Leaf is jealous and she doesn't know how to show it correctly." Venusaur explained. "Does no one here realize that I am ten years old? I don't know if I have feelings like that for Ellie. I think of both her and Leaf as some of my closest friends." I said. Mom is just staring at us at this point. I didn't want to explain it, so I told Lugia to.
Mom held my shoulders like she always did when she was going to reassure me that everything was going to work out. I got this treatment a lot during the years of tests. "William, you have a few years before you need to worry about that kind of stuff." Mom said in a comforting voice. This didn't help me when I was five and she told me to continue with the tests, nor does it help me now. But, I acted like it helped so that mom would leave me alone. Mom left and I started talking with Clefairy and Venusaur about how to make this go away for a few years. That including avoid Leaf and Ellie's feelings for a few years.
"You realize that you can't just stop them from feeling this way. You're Ellie's hero! Every time she sees you put on the armor, she falls for you even more." Clefairy said. "Leaf is the same way. Even though it seemed she despised you at first, it's just her way of showing that she likes you a lot." Venusaur added in. "You two aren't helping! How do I express that I don't share those feelings at this point without hurting them?" I asked. Venusaur and Clefairy looked at each other and said in unison "No idea." "You two are absolutely no help at all!" I said angrily. I looked down and put my face in my hands. Ellie came in looking for Clefairy and tried to see what was wrong with me. I told her it was just an energy drain. She got up to get me some herbs to help supplement it. Before she left, she kissed my cheek.
I growled like Gyarados after sheleft. Growlithe heard me and came in like a loyal pup to check on me. He mademe smile at his attempt, but he didn't help with the overall problem."Growlithe, can you do me a favor?" I asked. Growlithe looked ready to dowhatever I asked. "Go get Professor Oak and bring him here." I said. Growlitheran to get him. A few minutes later, Growlithe came back with Professor Oak."Clefairy, Venusaur, Growlithe, you guys mind letting us talk alone?" I asked. They all left. I explained the situation to Professor Oak and asked what hethought I should do. "Honestly William, I don't know what to tell you to do.You have to figure this out for yourself. I'll tell you that if you just behonest with them, they should respect how you feel." Professor Oak told me.This didn't help me at all.
