I entered the tower and found a Pokémon that I hadn't seen since I was four. "Mew. Long time no see old friend." I said to the little Legendary. It rubbed up against me and greeted me. "William, it's so good to see you. I knew that was you I sensed when you came into town." Mew said telepathically. I never understood why Mew had such a high-pitched voice when it spoke, but I didn't ask. "Were you the one who used a psychic move to make me fall to the ground?" I asked. Mew looked puzzled. I thought about it a bit more. Mew never felt like that when it used its psychic powers. I had to try to find the same psychic signature, but no luck. Mew told me that it could've been coming from the gym. I thought that was true, but I'd still be able to sense it. I looked out the window of the tower and everyone that came with me was freaking out.
I armored up and flew down with Mew. After I explained everything, I felt that same psychic presence again and I was able to pinpoint it this time. "I found where that psychic signal that put me on the ground last time is at. It's coming from Viridian City Gym." I said. "Why Viridian? That gym is ground type." Leaf said. "I don't know, but I see three trouble makers that we're familiar with going into that building." I said as I looked towards the Sylph Company. Pidgeotto flew up to the windows and found someone I hadn't come across since Mt. Moon. He came back frantically saying, "He's here. He's here." "Who?" I asked. "Giovanni!" Pidgeotto finally told me. "Ellie, go get Officer Jenny and tell her to come get Team Rocket from Sylph Co. Leaf, you're with me to take them down while Officer Jenny is on her way." I said. We all went the way to do our jobs.
"It's morphin time!" I said as we went in. Leaf and I made easy work of the grunts on the first five floors. The further we went up, the harder they got. We got to the seventh floor and heard something repulsive. "Prepare for trouble," Jessie said. "Or make it double." James said. "To protect the world from devastation," Jessie continued. "To unite all peoples within our nation." "To denounce the evils of truth and love," "To extend our reach to the stars above." "Jessie!" "James!" "Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light," "Surrender now or prepare to fight!" "Meowth, that's right." Meowth added in. "Don't you three ever get tired of being beaten so easily?" I asked. "Look you tin can, you just need to stop interfering with Team Rocket business." James said.
Leaf said for me to go after Giovanni. "I can handle these clowns." Leaf said confidently. I went on to where Giovanni was talking with the President of Sylph Co. "Let him go, Giovanni!" I said. "Well, if it isn't the Legendary Thorn in my side. Mr. President and I were just discussing a few business matters regarding a certain project that Sylph has begun working on. Besides, don't you have someone's Meowth to save from a tree?" Giovanni said trying to provoke me. "Don't think I don't know about the Pokémon you are testing on in the basement. You can't just use those helpless Pokémon for harmful experiments like this." I said. Giovanni looked at me. "Who are you to tell me what I can and can't do?" He said angrily. "I am the force of nature that protects Pokémon from those who would mistreat them for their own selfish ambitions. I am the Legendary Trainer! But you can call me your worst nightmare." I said as I went to kick him away from the President.
"You insolent little pest." Giovanni said as he stroked his jawline. He sent out his Persian to use Hyper Beam on me. I dodged the attempt and landed on top of it. It had to regain its strength from using Hyper Beam, so I had it look into my eyes as I used my powers to make it fall asleep. I sent out Growlithe, Arbok and Aggron to keep Giovanni right where he stood. As I helped the President of Sylph up, a hole was blown through the wall behind Giovanni where a helicopter waited to provide an escape for him. Aggron blocked his path, but he pulled out his Nidoqueen to use Surf on Aggron. Aggron fell and Giovanni escaped. When Officer Jenny showed up, I was still looking out of the hole, wondering why I couldn't stop him. I explained what happened to Officer Jenny and we all went on our way.
I went back to the tower to find out if the rumors of ghost Pokémon terrorizing anyone who went in were true. Ellie and Leaf were asleep at the Pokémon Center, so I didn't have to worry about them. Cubone apparently followed me after I had left. It caught up with me and, instead of getting mad; I just let it sit on my shoulder. Unfortunately, Cubone is as much of a scaredy cat as the girls are. Luckily, Cubone was smart enough to carry it's Poke ball with it so that I could put it away if it needed to get out of there. I finally got to the top of the tower, and found a Ghastly, Haunter, and a Gengar just having a party. It took a little while before they noticed me. When they finally looked, I said "Hi. I must have misplaced my invitation to the party."
I actually scared these ghost type Pokémon. That surprised me a little. When they finally stopped running around like wild Tauros, the Gengar spoke to me. "How did you get up here without us noticing?" Gengar said in a deep voice. "I just walked up here. I can't really be scared as easy as some people. I can't afford to get scared like that." I said. "Why is that?" Ghastly said in an echoing voice. I thought the voice echoing like that was for effect, but it was actually how it spoke. "I am the Legendary Trainer. I can't really get scared because I have to deal with intense situations." I explained. "So, what brings you up here?" Haunter asked. Haunter sounded kind of like someone who would be in a psychiatric ward. "I came to see if the rumors were true about ghosts terrorizing anyone who came in this tower. Looks like those rumors were false." I said as I started to turn out of the attic.
"Why is it false?" Ghastly asked. "I came in and never got terrorized. I actually scared you guys." I said. "Okay. So, can I ask a favor?" Gengar asked. "What's that?" I asked. "Please don't tell anyone. We have a reputation to keep." Gengar said. I agreed and started to head out. Ghastly was following me all the way until I got to the Pokémon Center. "Ghastly, why are you following me?" I asked. "I want to travel along with you. Plus, I think you need me against the gym here." Ghastly said. "Alright. But you have to do something for me." I said. I pointed out the room that Ellie and Leaf were sleeping in and told Ghastly to scare the mess out of them. I sat back and watched.
Ghastly filled the room with somekind of mist that I now realize was a lighter version of his Smog attack. Hestarted acting like a ghost haunting the place. When he was almost finished, both Ellie and Leaf had woken up from the noise. For his finally, Ghastly wentin front of both their faces and shook around with his tongue out. They startedscreaming and ran out of the room. I couldn't breathe because I was laughing sohard while rolling on the floor. They finally calmed down and saw me laughing. They were so mad that I was just sitting out in the hall watching and laughingas a wild Ghastly was attacking them. "He's not wild. He's coming with us." Isaid. "Yes, and I'm coming to drink your blood." Ghastly said while trying tosound like Dracula. The girls freaked out even more. "Wait, you two can hearhim too?" I asked. I didn't know that Ghastly was actually speaking. I thoughtit was just my powers allowing me to hear him. "Yes, we can hear him. He'sbeyond creepy." Leaf said while holding on to Ellie. Ellie was also holdingLeaf as if Leaf was going to protect her.
