Chapter Twenty Eight

Niall's P.O.V

"Hey mum." I smiled hearing her voice from the other end of the phone.

"Hello, Love. How's my baby doing?" She said through the phone making me blush the slightest bit as I leaned farther into Liam's chest as he played with my hair.

"Mum," I groaned making Liam and her chuckle. "I'm fine, how are you? Keeping yourself busy?" I ask.

"Yeah I've been pretty busy around the house, cooking and cleaning. Greg, Denise, and Theo are coming over tonight for dinner." She said making me smile at the thought of them, I really miss my family.

"I miss you guys." I sighed as I gently shut my eyes.

"We miss you too darling. How's LA?" Asking me with interest in her tone, I smile, looking up to Liam quickly before returning to my previous state.

"It's good, really good." I said, debating on whether or not to tell her that Liam and I are together. I haven't told her anything about us. All she knows it that I work for him. The line goes silent for a moment before I continue, "hey mum?"

"Yes, love?" She asks as I hear ruffling in the background.

"I've got something to tell you." I let out in a soft voice, sitting up, quickly turning around and throwing my leg over Liam so I'm straddling his hips. One hand held my phone to my ear and the other creased his right cheek. My mum stayed quiet, so I continued, "my boss, Liam. We're... We're dating." I breathe out, hoping she heard me.

"Your boss? How long has this been going on?" I could hear the confusion in her voice.

"Well we've only been dating for about a week and a half." I say nervously.

"And I'm just hearing about this?" She says in a stern voice as Liam rests him hands on my hips.

"Well I've just been nervous about telling people. I didn't want you to be upset with me, or think of me in a bad way because I just kinda broke up with Zayn." I rambled, staring down at Liam as he rubbed his thumbs against my hips trying to soothe me.

"Niall, I'd never think of you in a bad way, you're my baby. Besides you know I never liked Zayn, he wasn't good for you." She said as I sighed. "Were you and Liam doing... Things while you and Zayn were still together?" She asked pausing trying to find the right words to say. I didn't know what to tell her, I don't want to lie to her. But I can't tell her the truth, it would make me look bad.

"Mum, can we not talk about this over the phone?" I settled.

"Fine, but I expect an explanation, when you come back to the UK." She sighed.

"Yeah, I know." I say as I roll my eyes.

"And I expect to meet Liam. Your father needs to meet him." My eyes widened at the thought of my dad. He never liked Zayn, as much as my mum never liked him, my dad wouldn't even let him in his house. It's not the fact that my dad didn't like that I was gay, he's perfectly fine with it its just that he never thinks anyone is good enough for me.

"Yes mum." I say feeling like a child being scolded for doing something wrong. We make small talk for a few more minutes before we decide to say our farewells.

"Okay love, I'll let you go now." She whispered.

"Okay bye mum. I love you." Smiling as she said I love you too and that she missed me, we hung up.

"So your mum wants to meet me?" Liam's deep voice filled my ears.

"My mums not the one you need to worry about, trust me." I said resting the palms of my hand on his cheeks.
