"You're so pessimistic." I drop my pencil on my bed.
I shake my head. "No, I'm not. I'm just not the brightest person." I argue. Zach laughs.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing." Zach roars loudly. I turn my head and cross my arms.
"Yea, like it was nothing when you watched at me creepily yesterday..." I mutter under my breath. I turn around to look at Zach. His face was red. I had made him blush. I giggle.
"B-but." Zach started.
"Do you know number 6?" I asked like nothing had just transpired. Even though I had already known the solution to the problem, I just wanted to release the subject.
"I'm hungry." I look up from my math workbook and set my pencil next to the work.
"What?"
"You heard me," Zach said. " I'm hungry."
"I don't have anything to eat," I say and Zach pout. I went back to my homework. I overhear Zach groan. I choose to ignore him and focus on my math. After 5 minutes, Zach starts to make inappropriate noises. I scowl. Great, so much for concentrating.
"How about we go to Luci's Pizzaria?" I suggest.
"Awesome!" Zach said elatedly. He broke out into a smile. We both got off of the bed and went downstairs. I put on my Converse, grabbed my keys and I headed out with Zach.
We walk down the concrete paths towards Luci's. Zach's stomach complains softly, but you could still hear it. His face reddens and I smile.
"You're really desperate," I say. "I'll pay."
"No no no, Stacy." Zach waves his hands in front of him frantically.
"You don't have to-" I shake my head with a grin on my face.
"Haha. I insist." I ensure him. His face says otherwise.
"No. Stacy, it's my meal. You don't need-" I cut him off again. We turn at a corner. We're close to Luci's just a few steps away.
"If you keep on talking crap, we're going straight home." Zach instantly shuts up.
We get to Luci's. We head inside and are immediately welcomed by the smell of pizza and various Italian dishes. We go up towards the counter.
"Can we have one large pizza on the go?" I order. I dig into my back pocket and pull out 30 dollars. I placed it on the table. "Keep the change."
The cashier takes the money and nods.
After 10 minutes, they hand me the food. I and Zach walk out on the outside. Zach takes the pizza from my hands.
"At least, let me carry it." I nod and we keep stepping.
"I'm so full." I pat my paunch in agreement.
" I didn't know you could eat a whole large pizza." Zach looked impressed.
I beamed. "Well, we both learned something about each other. You learned I have a big appetite and me discovered that you don't like it when generous people pay your lunch."
The rest of the evening was spent like that. Laughter filled and happiness in the air.
"I have to be going right now." Zach glanced at the clock. He went towards the door and slipped on his shoes. I accompanied him.
He opens the door. Before he leaves, he turns back and kisses me on the cheek. Before I can catch him, he quickly turned and exited the house. I feel my face turn red. I bring my hand to the spot where he had picked me. My fingertips trace the place. A stupid grin forms on my face.
Well, this was interesting.
