We got inside and found third-row seats. After a few minutes, Jocelyn and Courtney came and sat with us and we started talking while waiting for the game to start.
"Hey Jocelyn, nice jersey," I smirk at her, she was wearing Andy's jersey.
"Andy finally asked me out last night!" She squealed making all of us gasp. "And when were you planning on telling us?!" Savannah asks crossing her arms at her best friend.
"I wanted to tell you guys today but the subject never came up." She said shyly.
"Well I'm happy for you," I say hugging her. "Thanks, Ash, and I see Ross finally had the balls to ask you to be his girlfriend." I blush and nod my head.
All of a sudden the bell rings alerting the game is about to start. Next thing you know Ross, Ryland, Andy, Jonathan, Danny, and Carter were coming out. We all started cheering for them as the game started.
~~~~
It's now halftime and we are winning 8-3. While they were resting Ross took a glance at the audience until his eyes landed on me and he smiled and winked at me.
After a few minutes, the game started back up again and by the end, we won 10-3. The other team did not improve. The whole school cheered as they announced that the team was qualified for the city championship.
As everyone left we stayed behind to congratulate the guys. "Congratulations Ross." I hugged my boyfriend. "Thanks, babe." He smiles and pecks my lips.
"Congrats John," I say as I let go of Ross to hug my twin brother.
"Thanks, sis." He says copying my gesture. I congratulated the rest of the guys and then Ross told me he had to go take a shower and change for our date.
~~~~
"Shouldn't I go change?" I ask as I get into his car. "Nope. You look hot in my shirt." I blush, rolling my eyes.
"So where are we going?" I ask curious. "Your brother told me you're a very old school. So I thought about taking you to a '50s-themed diner." He says while reaching out for my hand.
"Wait you told my brother about our date?" I didn't think he would. "Well yeah, I kinda need his permission to date his sister." He said shyly.
"I think it's sweet." I smile and he kisses my knuckles.
The rest of the ride was silent. Until we got to the small diner. Ross opened the car door for me and then grabbed my hand leading me inside.
"Table for two." He told the waitress and she nodded leading us to a booth near the window. "Thank you" I smiled at her and she left.
"Thanks for coming to the game." He smiles and reaches for my hand giving it a light squeeze. "You're welcome, it was fun. Why wasn't your family there?" I asked and his smile dropped. I'm guessing that's a sore subject.
"My dad had a night shift, mom passed away when I was five, Rydel had to teach a dance class at The Rage, Riker had to fix Savannah's car, and I haven't seen Rocky since yesterday." He furrowed his eyebrows and looked down at his hands.
I frown and give his hand a light squeeze. "I'm sorry for bringing it up."
"It's okay. You didn't know." He said still looking down. "Well, I'm sure your family would have been very proud if they saw how good you and Ryland were out there tonight." I caressed his cheek. "Thank you."
"For what?" He looked up in confusion. "Back in Colorado, I was the laughingstock of the whole school. I only had one friend. I was called a nerd because of my smarts and my glasses. I thought the same thing would happen when I came here but then you showed up and made me feel wanted and like I mattered. So thank you." Ross smiled and cupped my cheek.
"In my eyes, you're a beautiful, great girl no matter what anyone says." He leans in and smashes his lips to mine.
"I have a question though." He says after pulling away from the kiss. "What was your hair color before you dyed it?" He says full of curiosity. "Dirty blonde. Like yours maybe lighter."
"Excuse the interruption. May I get your orders please." The waitress interrupts our conversation and I see Ross frowns.
~~~~
For the rest of our date, we continued talking about random things and had a great time.
"Thanks for the date, Ross. I had a great time. And great job at the game." I say as we reach the front door of my house. "I'm glad you did and thanks for coming out. It meant a lot."
"I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I'll see you on Monday?" I smiled and he nodded. "I'll text you." He leaned in and kissed me. "Bye." I let go of his hand and opened the door to my house getting in.
