Chspter 30

A few days after Danny came to my house I agreed on going on his date.

Yes, I still love Ross but we aren't together right now. I need to try new things, right? Plus I'm going just as a friend.

As I was putting my heeled boots on the doorbell rang from downstairs. I walk down and open the door expecting Danny but he isn't the one on the other side.

"Ross? What are you doing here?" I wasn't expecting him at all. His eyes were bloodshot, with stained cheeks from crying and his hair was messy.

"Am I interrupting something?" He says looking at me up and down.

"I was getting ready to go out but it's fine, are you okay?" I ask and he shakes his head.

"I just got off the phone with Ryland, my dad passed away." He says letting out a few tears. "What? Come here." I pulled him in for a hug.

He quickly enveloped me in a hug and cried in my arms. "Here, let me go cancel my plans and I can keep you company."

"No, I can't let you do that." He shakes his head pulling away from the hug. "Well I'm going to and I am not letting you stop me, you need me right now," I tell him and kiss his cheek. He just nods his head and I walk up to my room.

I grab my phone and dial Danny's number.

D- hey Ash, you ready for our date?

A- hey. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to cancel. Something came up and I'm not going to be able to make it.

D- oh uh that's fine. Are you okay?

A- yeah, I'm fine. I just don't think this is a good idea right now.

D- oh I see. Well, I'll talk to you later.

I kinda feel bad for turning him down last minute but I can't leave knowing Ross is like this.

I put my phone down and changed into some comfy shorts and a long-sleeve T-shirt I had Ross. I tied my hair into a messy bun and took off my contacts putting my glasses on.

I walked down to the living room to see Ross with his eyes shut rubbing his forehead. "Now I'm all yours," I say sitting next to him and rubbing his back.

"I have no one now." He says wiping his eye and moving his hair out of his face.

"Hey, don't say that. You have a lot of people who care about you. You have your siblings, You have your friends and most importantly you have me and I'm not planning on leaving."

"But we broke up. You don't love me anymore and you were going to go on a date with Daniel today." He says not looking at me.

"Who told you I didn't love you anymore? I was only going out with Daniel today as friends, I don't like him in any other way and you broke up with me." I say and pull him in for a hug. He lays his head on my chest and I crease his cheek.

"There is no one in this world I'd rather be with right now than with you, my love." He says and it melts my heart. He slowly looks up at the same time as I look down and our lips crash into each other.

I grab ahold of his neck as he grabs ahold of my waist and pulls me down with him. It was getting quite heated when the doorbell rang indicating that the pizza was here. I grab my wallet grabbing $20 and walk to the door. I was about to open the door when a hand stopped me.

"I got this, love." He says kissing my forehead. "Are you sure?" I was a little hesitant. "Yes, go sit down."

"But-"

"Go sit down." He says giving me a reassuring smile and I sigh giving in and going back to the living room.

A few minutes later Ross walks in as well with the box of pizza in his hands. He sets it on the table and then sits next to me on the couch.

"You know, this reminds me of our second movie night together," I say blushing and snuggling into him.

"That the time I kept taking pictures of you?" He says with a smirk on his face. "Yes."

"like this?" He takes his phone out and starts taking pictures of me.

"No, not again!" I say covering the phone and scrunching my nose.

"You're so cute." He says and I can't help but blush. He kisses my blushing cheek and then grabs a pizza taking a bite.
