Chapter 31

~Two days prior~

~Ross pov~

Today I decided to drop work and go hang out with the guys for a little, so I called them but only Danny could hang out. I got in my car and drove off to his house.

I rang the doorbell and a few minutes later a girl opened the door and walked out.

"Ross, come in!" He says let me into his house. "Did you see that chick? let me tell you she was great and felt so good." He smirks at me and I roll my eyes. "Too bad it's the last one I'll be seeing before my date with Ashley in a few days." He says and anger boils inside of me.

"Your date with who?!" I grab him by the collar with gritted teeth. He is not talking about my Ashley.

"I'm going to fuck around with your girl for a bit just for old-time sake." He smirks and I can't resist the urge to punch him square in the face.

"Touch Ashley and I will kill you," I say before he pushes me off of him.

"I have your little slut wrapped around my finger, Don't worry I'll go easy on her when she moans my name."

"You fucking prick. Was that the only reason you wanted me here?!"

"I'm just letting you know in advance, a lot has happened in the two months you were gone. Plus I could finally get you back for what you did to me last year." He says, again with that stupid smirk on his face.

"I swear if you hurt her in any way," I say before walking out.

There is no way in hell Ashley is going on that date Friday night.

~Friday night~

I was in the middle of watching a movie when my phone started ringing obnoxiously. I pick it up and see it's Ryland calling.

~phone convo~

R- hey Ryland. What's up?

Ry- Ross uh its dad, he uh-

R- Ry what happened with Dad?!

Ry- Dad passed away.

R- what? No! You're lying. He's not gone!

Ry- I'm sorry Ross I have to go we'll be back in California in a few days for the funeral.

He hung up the phone and I threw it into the wall cracking the screen. Before I could break anything else. I grabbed my phone and keys and walked out of the house crying.

I didn't know where I was going until I stopped at a familiar house, Ashley's.

I hesitantly get out of my car and walk to her doorstep. Contemplating whether I should knock or just forget about this and leave, I decide to ring the doorbell.

After a few minutes, Ashley opens the door looking gorgeous. "Ross? What are you doing here?" She says shocked to see me.

"Am I interrupting something?" I say looking at her up and down.

"I was getting ready to go out but it's fine, are you okay?" She asks looking at my features and I shake my head.

"I just got off the phone with Ryland, my dad passed away," I say letting a few tears out. "What? Come here." She pulls me in for a hug.

I quickly enveloped her in a hug and cried in her arms. "Here, let me go cancel my plans and I can keep you company."

"No, Ashley I can't let you do that." I shake my head pulling away from the hug.

Wait, she's going on that date with Danny tonight, isn't she?

"Well I'm going to and I am not letting you stop me. You need me right now." She tells me and kisses my cheek.

She walks up to her room and I sit on the couch in her living room. After a few minutes, she came down with shorts, a T-shirt of mine, her hair tied up in a messy bun, and her glasses lying on the bridge of her nose.

She looked gorgeous.
