Chapter 5

We finally arrived in California and it's gorgeous. When we got to the house my dad told us where our rooms were to unpack our stuff.

After unpacking everything and setting up my room I went downstairs because mom called us for dinner.

"Alright guys, you will be starting school tomorrow." My mom said excitedly as we were eating.

"Ugh. Why can't we have a few days off? Start next week?" My brother whined, acting like a two-year-old. "Because we start work tomorrow as well," Mom said already irritated with him.

Once done with dinner I went back upstairs and got ready for school and bed.

~Next Morning~

I woke up this morning and did my usual morning routine. I went downstairs, grabbed a pop tart, and ate it while walking to my car.

When I got there I went straight to the office to get my schedule and then I started looking for my locker.

"Hi, you look lost, do you need any help?" I heard someone say. I turned around and a pretty brunette smiled at me.

"I'm Savannah, what's your name?" She said and held out her hand for me to shake. "Ashley," I said shaking her hand.

"That's a pretty name." She smiles. "Can I see your schedule?"

"Yeah, here you go, and thank you." I smile and hand her my schedule. After a few seconds, she looked up at me and smiled. "Your locker is right next to mine and we have all of the same classes so if you want I can give you a tour of the school and you can hang out with me and my friends."

"That would be great, thank you." She handed me back my schedule and we headed to our lockers. As we were putting our stuff in our lockers I heard someone call out Savannah's name.

"Hey, Savannah. Are you going to introduce me to your new friend?" A tall blonde guy asks winking at me.

"Ross go away." She says rolling her eyes, annoyed. "Hey, gorgeous. I'm Ross." He says completely ignoring what Savannah has said seconds before.

"I'm Ashley." I blushed a little, he's very attractive. "Nice to meet you, beautiful." He flirted grabbing my hand and kissing my knuckles.

"Alright, we have to go," Savannah says pulling me away from his grasp. "It was not nice seeing you Ross." She gave him a fake smile and pulled me to our first class.

"Who is he?" I asked while we were walking to class. "That was Ross Lynch. He's the captain of the hockey team and the bad boy of the school. He flirts with every girl he comes across and has slept with half the school." She says rolling her eyes in his direction.

We had one of those in Colorado, his name is Jonathan Evans. My brother has slept with every girl he has ever come across.

"Oh, and how do you know him so well?" I asked curiously. "I'm dating his older brother. And he was the same way with me when I was new, sophomore year. Alright, this is Mr.Burns's English class."

We walked in and she introduced me to Mr.Burns. "Mr.Burns we have a new student. This is Ashley Evans."

"Hello. I'm Mr.Burns your English teacher. You can have a seat across from Savannah."

"Thank you," I say before walking to Savannah's table.

Once class started Mr.Burns introduced me to the class and had me say a few things about myself, typical first-day new kid things.

It was 15 minutes into class and two people came in laughing.

"Ross you're late, again, and you, who are you?" Mr. Burns says annoyed yet confused. I looked up from my notes at the sound of Ross' name and saw Jonathan next to him.

"Oh no," I say resting my forehead on the palm of my hand. "Jonathan Evans, I'm new obviously." He said with a cocky smirk on his face.

"Is that your brother?" Savannah whispers turning her attention at me. "Unfortunately." I sighed.

"Both of you have detention after school," Mr.Burns says, but neither of the boys seemed phased. "We can't Jonathan is trying out for hockey and I'm the captain so I need to be there," Ross says with that stupid smirk plastered on his face.

"Just sit down boys." The boys nodded and sat in the back of the class. I turn to the two boys sitting down as Ross looks up at me and winks making me blush.
