Chapter 36

"Hey, baby," Ross says sitting next to me as usual at lunch. "Hi." I look at him and smile.

"You guys look like a middle school couple that just started dating." Cameron laughs and sits down across from us. "Are you busy tonight?" He ignores her comment. "Nope, I just have a few assignments to finish, why?"

"I wanted to take you out." He trails kisses from my neck and to my jaw. "Where to?" I pout knowing he won't tell me.

"It's a surprise, I can't tell you." He chuckles and I cross my arms. "No fair!" I scrunch my nose.

"The only thing I can say is that we're going to the lake, like on our first date." He smiles and kisses my cheek.

"See you, tomorrow guys." I hug the group and Ross and I walk to my car. I open the door and the first thing I see is a bouquet of roses on the passenger seat.

"Did you put these here?" I look at Ross and he's smiling like an idiot. "You're cute when you're romantic." I kiss his cheek.

I start the ignition and he closes the door for me. "I'll see you at eight." He kisses my forehead, I nod and drive off.

When I get to my house I start doing my homework and right after a shower, I try to find something to wear for our date.

Judging by the fact that he brought me roses and prom is a month away I think he's going to ask me.

I decided on something simple; light-washed high-waisted shorts, a black crop top, and flannel to finish it off. I brushed my hair and straightened it a little since it was a little messy.

After that, I texted Ross telling him I was ready and he came half an hour later.

"You make it hard to resist you." He says as he looks at me up and down biting his lip.

"Good thing this is all just for you." I smiled kissing his cheek and got into his car. He Jumps to the other side of the car and gets in himself.

He starts the ignition and slips his hand on my thigh squeezing it, I lay mine on top of his and smile at him.

"So what exactly are we doing at the lake?" I asl knowing he probably won't tell me.

"I can't tell you, my love." See, told you. "Good thing we're already here." He turns off the car and gets out quickly jogging to my side as I open the door and get out. 

"Wait here." He instructs and I look around. There's a trail, I'm sure we are going through, full of lights. Ross comes back a few seconds later with his guitar in hand and he grabs mine with the other.

"This is so beautiful," I say in awe as we walk down the lit trail. "I had a feeling you'd like it." He starts strumming to a nice familiar tone.

He stops strumming for a second and spins me around before continuing.

He stops strumming again to crease my cheek and I can't help but start blushing hard.

This is all so sweet, he's so sweet.

He finishes the song by kissing me on the lips. "I'm not one to usually go to these things but if I'd have to go I'd want it to be with you. So, would you go to prom with me?" He lays the guitar on the picnic blanket that is set up and grabs the rose that sits there.

"I would love to." I lean in and kiss him. He grabbed ahold of my waist and pulled me closer to him.

"I love you." He mumbles into the kiss and I smile. After a few seconds, we both pull away out of breath and he takes my hand leading me to the picnic blanket.
