Ryder and I finally pull away from each other, the both of us panting heavily.
I turn sheepishly to face Logan only to find him still staring at us, open mouthed. Yup, I think he’s convinced.
“Convinced now, baby bro?” Ryder asks, smirking.
Gosh, such a sexy smirk!
“Hell...you two were being serious?” Logan manages to choke out.
I nod my head, biting my lower lip.
“But how is it even possible?! You guys hate each other!” Lo sighs.
“I never hated her,” Ryder corrects, shrugging easily. He waits a moment for me to affirm that I never hated him either.
When I don’t, he narrows his eyes at me.
“Faye, have you ever hated me?”
Darn it!
“Maybe just a wee bit,” I whisper, dropping my gaze.
“Seriously?! You hated me?” he pouts, leaning in close to me.
“Oi! Stop it!” Logan snarls, pushing Ryder back.
“Logan!” I protest, but by this time, Logan has already launched himself at Ryder. The both of them are rolling around on the dirt, shouting out things at each other; very personal, embarrassing things which I don’t care to repeat here.
“Logan! Get off him!” I plead, trying to pry the brothers away from each other.
“What the hell is your problem?! She’s your best friend, so freaking what?! Does that instantly make her undateable?!” Ryder demands, shoving Logan back.
“Only to you! I know you! You’ll use her and then toss her! I’m not letting you do that to Faye!” Logan insists.
“People change!”
“Oh yeah?! Name me one single person who has changed!” Logan challenges.
“Your best friend! She hated me! Now she loves me!” he smirks.
And that’s all it takes for Logan to lose it.
He pulls his fist back, and in the next instant, there’s a cracking sound a howl of pain from Ryder. Ryder sinks to his knees, gripping his nose and cussing so loudly and colourfully that it would make a sailor blush!
Logan jumps up and down on the spot, clutching at knuckles. He’s cursing too, but in a much tamer way.

You would think that being the girlfriend and the best friend of Ryder and Logan respectively, that I would have done something, no?
Nope.
I just stood there, waiting for the both of them to calm down.
And just like before, the both of them don’t carry on fighting. Nope. Instead, Logan jumps behind the wheel, Ryder slides into the backseat beside me and we’re on our way back to the Preston mansion.
Seriously, these Preston boys will be the death of me!

“What happened to you guys?!” the boys mother shouts, the moment the two of them get out of the car.
