Chapter 14

"I have a surprise for you." Wesley grinned, wrapping his arms around my shoulders from behind.

"Is it another week to study for finals because if it is you'll be my favorite person ever." I said, turning around to look at him.

"Not quite... But it does involve a week of relaxation and me." Wesley grinned as I leaned back against my locker.

"Babe that's winter break, and everybody has that." I laughed, shaking my head.

"Yes, but not everybody gets to go to the Bahamas with their boyfriend." Wesley said happily.

I raised my eyebrows. "And neither do I? I've never even been out of the country." I shook my head.

"But you will be, in ten days." Wesley said happily.

"I'm not connecting the dots here." I shook my head.

Wesley's grin only grew.

"Bikini season, Mark, gosh why am I related to you?" I heard Marley snap as they walked past us.

"That," Wesley said, pointing after them, "is because my loaded mother has a house on an island in the Bahamas, and we are all going down there for the first half of winter break."

"We?" I asked quietly, the smile fading from my face.

"Yep." Wesley said excitedly. "Jane's under the impression that you and Nicole are only Marley's friends, so the two of you and Logan are going to be coming on our family vacation."

I felt a pit form in my stomach but I forced a smile on my face.

"This is going to be such a great vacation." Wesley grinned, leaning forwards to plant a wet smooch on my lips. "But I gotta go I'll see you at lunch." Wesley said happily.

I couldn't bring myself to ruin his elated mood, but I knew there was no way I'd be able to go to the Bahamas with them...

"Yea, see you." I replied, turning back to my locker.

I didn't like spending the night at my friends houses, let alone an entire week in another country. Were the Bahamas even in another country? Did you need a passport to get there? Did I even have a passport?

I sighed as I shut my locker.

It's not like that would matter. There's no way my mom would let me go. Jane may be naive to her son's dating habits, but my mom knew full well that Wesley and I had been together for almost three months. And no mom in their right mind would let their daughter go out of the country with her boyfriend in high school.

But I was actually okay with that. Because that was something that I could blame it on.

When I told Wesley that I wasn't going, I could just blame it on my mom. That was a lot easier than explaining to him that I didn't want to go because I'm always anxious and the thought of traveling is absolutely terrifying.

"I cannot even begin to express how excited I am for winter break now." Nicole said excitedly, turning the page in her textbook.

"I know." Marley grinned. "Ugh finals will be over, I will be stress free, and Logan and I can finally be in peace."

"But of course there's the fact that nobody except for the two of us know about you two." I pointed out, setting down my pencil.

Marley sighed. "That's fine though. Because you two will keep Mark and Wesley preoccupied, and it won't be that hard to avoid the others." Marley shrugged. She suddenly gasped, sitting up straight. "Did I ever tell you what happened the other day?"
