Chapter 11

Wesley's POV

*I actually had fun today! ;)*

I laughed at the text message from Grace as I leaned back against the couch.

*Well good. I told you they'd like you.*

"Oh come on I could take you on left handed any day." Michael suddenly said to Justin.

I looked up in amusement as the two of them sat down on either side of the coffee table.

"No way man, you're a QB, all your strength is in your right." Justin shook his head. "I'm balanced."

"Yea balanced and weak." Michael shot back.

I watched in interest as they both put down their left arms to get ready. But my attention was soon drawn to the other couch where Mark was holding down James' arms, trying to climb on top of him.

My dad walked into the living room and stopped short for a minute, looking at the chaos of his children.

He furrowed his eyebrows at Alex and Marley, trying to figure out what was going on for a minute.

By the looks of it, she was trying to reach his phone and he was holding her back with a tight grip on her hair.

My dad just shook his head, taking a deep breath.

"Guys, we have to discuss some stuff." He said to the group.

Nobody really paid him any attention. I intended to, but my phone buzzed in my hand and I quickly looked down, a smile spreading across my face.

*Maybe double dates won't be so bad anymore... Although I prefer to have you all alone... ;)*

I smiled, resting my ankle over my knee.

*What's up with you and winky faces today?*

"Can you be serious, please?" My dad suddenly said loudly, running his hands through his hair.

Everyone in the room stopped as everyone turned to look at him in shock.

He rarely raised his voice with us...

"What? Is this for our schedules for the bathroom for tomorrow on Thanksgiving?" Mark laughed, sitting down on the couch next to James rather than sitting on James. "Because we all know Mar won't follow them anyways." Mark added.

I couldn't help but laugh at that. It was very true.

My dad didn't even laugh, he just stared at the wall behind us, looking like he was at a loss for words.

"As you know, the company has been expanding a lot recently." My dad said softly.

Mark and I exchanged looks. Dad had been spending a lot of time working lately and he was getting more and more stressed. We were worried that something was happening with the company.

"And they need someone to run the branch in Cleveland." My dad added, leaning back against the entertainment unit.

I felt a chill run through my body as the room got even quieter than before.

"Their last person fell through, and the branch opens a week from Thursday. They need me out there immediately." My dad said, his voice almost a whisper.

We were moving to Ohio? Gross.

"So for the time being, you're going to be staying with your mother." My dad said softly, closing his eyes.
