Chapter 24

"Hello?" I answered my phone without looking at the caller ID.

"I will be there in less than a minute, come unlock the door." Wesley told me, causing a smile to spread on my face.

"I'll be right there." I grinned, hanging up the phone.

I tossed my book aside, not even bothering to mark the page as I jumped off of the bed.

I jogged down the stairs, opening up the front door just as Wesley stepped up onto the top step.

"Hey." I said, a smile crossing my face.

"Hey." Wesley smirked, walking towards me. "I brought you flowers." He held up the bouquet of red roses in his hands.

"Get inside it's freezing." I giggled, stepping backwards into the warm house. "And are these to make up for the fact that you're two hours late?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Partly. But mostly to wish my beautiful girlfriend a merry christmas and to remind her how much I love her." Wesley winked, pressing a kiss to my lips as I shut the door behind him.

"Well thank you, I love them almost as much as I love you." I giggled, taking them from his hands.

"Wow it's freezing outside." Wesley laughed as he pulled off his jacket and kicked off his winter boots.

He draped it over a chair in the kitchen while I put the flowers into a vase with water.

"It is winter." I nodded, glancing over my shoulder at him.

"So why are you wearing shorts?" Wesley laughed, raising his eyebrows as he walked up behind me.

"Because I shaved my legs and they're ridiculously soft." I giggled.

"Oh really?" Wesley raised his eyebrows, reaching down to trail his hand up my thigh. "Damn..." He whispered, kissing my cheek.

I let out a giggle as he pulled my hips against his.

"I like the short shorts." Wesley whispered, his face breaking into a grin right next to mine.

I turned around to face him, my back pressing into the counter.

"They're not short shorts. They're running shorts." I raised my eyebrows. "That happen to be a few sizes too small." I added with a giggle.

"I really am sorry that I'm late." Wesley said softly, tucking my hair behind my ear.

"It's okay." I replied quietly, my eyes scanning his face. His skin was tan from our week in the Bahamas with more freckles sprinkled over his nose.

"Let's go upstairs." Wesley suddenly said before spinning around and jogging up the stairs.

I felt my stomach flip as he disappeared around the corner.

I took a deep breath, turning off the kitchen light as I walked towards the stairs.

"Hurry up, slow poke!" Wesley called.

"Don't be impatient!" I called back with a giggle, navigating my way through the pitch black room.

I jogged up the stairs, pushing my hair back from my face.

Wesley was laying back across my bed, his attention on his phone.

"What are you doing?" I frowned as I walked into my bedroom.

"Huh?" Wesley asked, turning to look at me.

I crossed my arms, leaning back against the door as I closed it.

"I'm on Twitter." Wesley shrugged, looking back at his phone again.
