Chapter 21
"Mom, Nicole is here!" I called to my mom as I grabbed my phone from the counter.
"What where are you going?!" My mom asked quickly, walking into the kitchen from the living room.
"To Wesley's house." I sighed, turning to face her. "I told you this like an hour ago..."
"Wesley's? Darling you were just out of the country with that family..." My mom frowned.
"Yeah well they're leaving tomorrow so Nicole and I wanna say goodbye." I shrugged. "We won't be spending Christmas with them."
"Fine." My mom sighed. "Be home by eight."
"Eight?!" I asked in shock.
"Yes, darling, I want you home." My mom said softly.
"Fine." I sighed, knowing there was no point in arguing. The Ryders were going out tonight anyways, meaning I'd be home at like six.
"Bye!" I called as I ran out of the house.
"Bye!" My mom replied with exasperation.
I jogged out to Nicole's car, quickly jumping in.
She was speeding out of the driveway before I was even buckling up.
"Gosh, my mom was annoyed that I was going to the Ryder's." I laughed. "She thinks I've been spending too much time with him."
"Yeah, we have." Nicole laughed. "They're like a magnet, they suck you in and you can't leave." She glanced at me.
"Wonderful." I laughed. "I don't mind though."
"Yeah, luckily they're a sick ass bunch." Nicole nodded, reaching to turn up the radio.
When we got to Jane's house, Nicole just walked right in without knocking.
"Um, okay?" I laughed following her.
"Eh it's fine they don't mind." Nicole shrugged, glancing over her shoulder.
I stayed silent, following her through the front hall.
"Happy Christmas Eve Eve!" Wesley said with a cheesy grin as Nicole and I walked into the living room.
"Hey." I laughed, pushing my hair off of my shoulder.
Four months ago if someone told me I'd be sitting in a room of a house this big with all seven Ryders and Nicole, I'd have laughed in their face.
But here I was...
"What are you guys up to?" Nicole asked, sitting down in between Marley and Mark.
"We are trying to decide where to go to dinner tonight with Jane and Henry before we go to dad's house for Christmas." Wesley informed us as I sat down on his lap.
"Well that can't be that difficult, just pick a restaurant." I frowned, looking at him.
There were multiple laughs from the room.
"It's not that simple, Grace." Michael spoke up with a laugh.
"Coordinating seven people is a hassle." Justin agreed with his grin.
"See I'm just telling them that the most logical place is Pita Cafe in downtown Birmingham." Wesley sighed, giving me a look.
"And I'm telling you that that place is dirty! I don't want to eat there!" Marley exclaimed, her voice shockingly angry.
