"Maura darling, your father and I found a box of your things from high school and figured you'd might want the memories." Constance smiled at her daughter."Thank you, mother." Maura smiled and took the box from her. "It was nice to have dinner with the two of you before I left."
"Ditto, darling." Her father spoke.
"You will come visit, won't you?" Maura asked them, of course already knowing the answer.
"Of course we will darling!" Her mother spoke a little too quickly.
'No, you won't come visit.' Maura thought. Boston would be considered 'too dirty' for her proper mother. For it is nothing like Paris, or Bora Bora.
"Good, I look forward to seeing you." She smiled politely.
"It's time for you to get going, you don't want to miss your flight." Her father said and she nodded.
"Indeed. Mother, Father, goodbye." She nodded curtly and went to put the small box filled with mementos into the limo, her parents insisted that she not ride in a cab, that would be taking her to the airport. She got in and sighed. She loved her parents, but a long lunch with them was exhausting. She felt that she never was the daughter they wanted, ironic because she was adopted.
After going through security and getting adjusted into first class She decided to go through the box they had given her. She opened the box and couldn't help but laugh a little. The first thing on top were her report cards, and obviously the marks were great.

Physical Education: 90
Of course physical education wasn't above a 90, but it was surprisingly above an 80. She set those aside and picked out some more stuff. Her body froze and her breath hitched. She felt the world had stopped moving just because of the tiny object she held in her hands. The feeling that coursed through her was one that was indescribable. She flipped the picture over and couldn't help but smile.
So blessed to of gotten to spend my senior year getting to know you, you're alright I suppose;)-Love Always, Jane.
She could feel herself quickly getting tearyeyed as she looked at the beautiful women she tried so hard to forget for the past ten years. Jane Rizzoli. She had been the first person Maura was in love with, and never even told her. She graduated when Maura was in grade ten, and all though she promised they would remain friends, they lost all contact. Maura had done everything she could to forget her, including transferring schools. She went off to a French boarding school for her last two years, which made her parents happy of course, considering it was a private school. She just couldn't be at a school Jane had gone to, not only were there too many memories, but she was a sports legend so there was a lot of pictures. It was just too hard.
"Flight 182 to Boston will be landing shortly." The women on the intercom broke her of her thoughts. She was excited to be back in Boston. Especially because of her promotion, chief medical examiner of the commonwealth of Boston Massachusetts. Maura would start immediately, especially since they just hit a particularly hard case.
"Would you like anything else?" The flight attendant who had a tray of assorted peanuts and mini bottles of wine asked Maura.
"No, thank you." She smiled politely, she believed in manners highly, something her parents taught her and something she was quite proud of. She nodded returning the smile and kept walking. Maura looked back at the picture. She could remember every detail of the day that picture was taken.
"Come on Maura, I'm graduating. I'm gonna need as many pictures as I can, please take one more." Jane pouted her adorable pout at Maura, and how could she say no to that?
"Fine." She playfully over-dramatically sighed. She would do anything Jane wanted.
"Yay!" She squealed before coughing to cover it up. "Yo Dawson, can you take this picture for me?" She asked the boy walking past the two girls.
"Sure thing Rizzoli." He smiled and stopped to take the picture. Of course he was going to help. Literally everyone had a crush on Jane. She was easily the most attractive person at the school, and the most attractive person Maura had ever met in her entire life.
"Smile Maur, this picture is gonna be the best one yet." She said putting one arm around Maura's back and the other on her own hip.
"Thanks Dawson." Jane said after the 'click' went off. She reached and got the camera from him as he said 'welcome' and left. "I love it." Jane smiled at me.
"Me too." Said Maura, "You told me to smile, you're smirking!" and playfully hit her shoulder.
"Well of course, I gotta have the smolder." She said making the face again. Maura laughed and playfully pushed her. Just then the bell ring.
"I gotta go Maur, I have graduation practice." She said hugging the honey blonde.
"Okay, I'll see you later tonight right? We're still having movie night aren't we?"
"Wouldn't miss it for the world." Jane said letting go and walking towards the practice as she walked towards class.
"Later Isles!" Jane screamed halfway across the parking lot, getting the attention of many people.
Maura just laughed and shook her head. "Bye Jane." She whispered and bit her lip to prevent from busting out into tears. She was so in love with the brunette, and she was going to miss her so much.
She collected herself before heading off to science.
She cleared her throat as she put her seatbelt on to prepare for the landing. Maura briefly wondered if it would be a good idea to try and contact her when she got to Boston, but then she realized it's been ten years. 'She's probably forgotten about me by now.' Maura thinks as she puts everything back into the box and closed it. She would go through it all later.
