As soon as Maura got home that night she went straight to her yearbook. She remembered that Jane had wrote an entire pages worth in her annual, as she had done in Jane's annual as well, and she desperately wanted to read it."Ah ha!" Maura said when she grabbed the right yearbook. She flipped all the way to the back and stopped on what was known as 'Jane's Page', well what Jane called her page at least. Her eyes watered at the familiar handwriting hidden in that black ink as she began to read.
Dear Maur,
Wow, words cannot explain our friendship. Let me start by saying you are my all time best friend, I know that I can always come to you when I've had enough of my Ma and Pa fighting, or when Tommie and Frankie won't get out of my room, ugh! And of course you know you can always come to me right? I cannot thank you enough for the endless great memories we have, I will treasure them forever. Look Maura, you made my senior year amazing. You came to all my home games and some away games, you came to my awards banquets with me, you just stayed with me and I appreciate it because I know I can be a handful. I've never had a friend like you Maura Isles, I've never been so blessed. I love you.
-Love always, JaneBy the time Maura had got done reading it she was a sobbing mess. She missed Jane, she missed everything they had. She just wished she knew why they drifted apart, why Jane went off to college and forgot about her. She promised Maura they wouldn't drift apart, that Jane wouldn't forget her, that was the first and only promise Jane Rizzoli had ever made to Maura Isles and broken.

"Good morning Dr.Isles." Tim said to her, as he usually did, when she walked into the BPD lobby.
"Good morning officer Tim." She said smiling politely. "How are you today?"
"I'm fine ma'am." He said smiling at her. "Have a good day Doctor."
"You too." She said smiling and getting in the elevator. She knew Tim liked being talk to in the mornings, even if it was only for a few seconds, it was a form of respect. Maura inwardly made it her mission to make sure she had at least a small chat with the man every morning.
Maura quietly worked in her office for a few hours until there was a knock on her door. She looked up and smiled.
"Come in.""Good morning Dr.Isles." Susie said as she walked into the office.
"Good morning senior criminalist Chang, has detective Rizzoli been down here for the file yet?"
"Yes, they made an arrest. Lieutenant Cavanaugh would like to see you." Susie said. "Just wanted to inform you."
"Okay, thank you Susie." Maura had a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. Was she in trouble? She went upstairs and made her way straight to Janes desk. She didn't know why, but she figured Jane could ease her mind.
"Oh good morning Dr.Isles." Sargent Korsak said to her.
"Good morning Sargent. Do you know where Jane is?"
"No I don't. Is there something I can help you with?"
"Oh no I was just-." She sighed. She couldn't lie, literally, she broke into hives. "I herd Lieutenant Cavanaugh was looking for me."
