"The ID in the wallet says Terry Marks." Jane said opening the wallet, of course with latex gloves on."Who kills someone in broad daylight? There could be so many witness, it's careless, a rookie mistake." Korsak said as he looked at the apartments across the street. This was a park with no trees, a field if you would, and there's just a body laying here.
"Maybe not Sargent." Maura spoke examining the body. "Do you see this reddish brown stain?"
Jane rolled her eyes. "You mean blood?"
"No. I mean this reddish brown stain." She said, Korsak silently laughed and nodded.
"I see it."
"Well it's also over here, a tiny trail, this is not the death site."
"Okay, Frost follow this trail and see if you see something." Jane said and the detective nodded, anything to get away from the dead body.
"What does this look like to you Rizzoli?" Korsak asked.
"A set up." Jane said and Korsak nodded. "There's more to this."
"There always is."
Once Maura's crew zipped up the body in a body bag they loaded the truck and headed for the morgue. The detectives were searching the premises and talking to possible witness in the apartments.
"I will start the autopsy soon." Maura said coming up to a Jane who was standing alone looking around. "Come if you'd like."
Jane leaned closer to Maura. "Oh I plan to."
About two hours later the detectives were making their way back to the bullpen, except for Jane who was heading towards the autopsy room.
"Hi." Jane said coming in as Maura was hard at work.
"Hello." Maura smiled.
"Anything yet?"
"I'm actually just now getting started, my mother had called as soon as I got here."
"Oh..yeah." Jane nodded.
"Jane?"
"Hm?"
"Why are you so nervous about my mother coming around?" Maura asked, she'd been meaning to ask for the past weak.
"I-I'm not." Jane said and then sighed, she wasn't going to lie to Maura. "I am."
"I know." Maura said not looking up from her autopsy. "Tell me why."
"I-I..I'm afraid your mom won't like me."
"Jane my mother already knows you. remember?"
"Yes but that was a long time ago and what if she hates me now?"
"Jane." Maura said sitting her scalpel down and taking her gloves off then walked over to stand in front of the beautiful brunette. "My parents have no idea what went down between us. I just said we didn't speak anymore, which technically wasn't a lie. They weren't really around to notice. I was mainly by myself."
"I left you that way." Jane whispered, ashamed of herself and her actions. "I'm so sorry Maura."
"I know you are." Maura smiled at her. "It's okay, because I've got you now. I love you."
"I love you too."
"So don't be nervous okay?"
"Okay."
"Besides, we aren't telling her about us." Maura said, it was a statement but she was also asking a question.
"I know. Would she care?"
