"Crap." Maura mumbled as she jumped out of her skin at the sound of her phone ringing in her dead silent home.
"Isles." She says curtly, business like.

"Hey Maura it's me." A deep voice came on the other end and Maura smiled.

"Hello Jane."

"Hi yes, well I was just calling you to invite you over. Frost, Korsak, and Frankie are coming over to celebrate busting this case and since you basically busted it, we were wanting to know if you'd want to come over."

"First off, I didn't bust this, you guys did. I just helped. Secondly, I'd love to. Should I bring something?" Maura ask, very excited to get to see Jane.

"Nah you're good. Just bring yourself." Jane said. "How long do you think it'll take you to get here?"

"I'm not sure where you live." Maura said and Jane made a funny noise.

"Oh yeah." She said and gave Maura her address.

"Mm, it should take me about twenty minutes." Maura said trying to calculate the time.

"Okay, see you in twenty minutes." Jane said hanging up.

Maura couldn't help but smile. She fixed her make up, put on a little perfume, made sure her tortoise was fed, grabbed her keys and left.

She stood in front of Jane's apartment and took a deep breath before knocking. "Hey." Jane said smiling largely.

"Hi Jane." Maura smiled. "May I come in?" She asked.

"Of course, since I invited you." Jane joked and let her in.

"Where is everyone else?" Maura asked stepping inside.

"Well, you're actually kinda early. Everyone should be here in about half an hour or so." Jane said. "I just thought we'd hang out until the others got here." Jane said. "Here you can sit down." She said and sat on the couch, Maura sat beside her.

"You know I have yet to see Frankie?" Maura said. "I can't wait to see what he looks like."

"Man he's grown up." Jane said taking a sip of her beer. "Oh do you want one?" she asked.

"Not right now, no thanks." Maura declined respectfully. "Anyway, continue."

"Oh, anyway for the past few months he was working to get detective. He's been working really hard and he finally made it. Ma's really proud of him."

"That's good, really good. How's Tommy?" Maura asked and instantly regretted it. Janes smile fell from her lips and she crossed one leg under the other and took a gulp of beer.

"He's in prison." Jane said quietly and Maura gasped.

"Jane I'm so sorry." Maura said and Jane shrugged.

"It's fine, he was always a handful growing up so."

"Yeah but I didn't think it would land him in prison. Do you mind if I ask what he did?"

Jane bit her lip. "A number of different things, but he ran over a priest." Jane said trying to ignore Maura's loud intake of breath. "Father Crowley lived, it was accident. Tommy was driving under the influence."
