Chapter 16: LOVE IS IN THE AIR

KAVYA’S POV: 

“Looking for Kavya. Kavya Bhagwat,” I heard his voice at the reception. He was supposed to pick me up in the evening. Like every other evening, if I may add. I went out wondering what the rush could be.

He took me to the side and said, “We are driving along the coast early tomorrow morning. We’ll stay the day at Siddharth’s beach house at Akshi. Be ready. I wouldn’t have been able to make it today evening. Rahul is throwing this party and it’s a guy’s night kind of a thing. Anyways, instead of cancelling on the phone, I thought I would come here. That way I could get to see you.” I just smiled at how sweet he was.

I said,”Hey, it’s ok. Have fun. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He beamed, kissed me on the cheek and left.

I really was excited about tomorrow. I didn’t want to spend the weekend the same old way. I went back and packed up for tomorrow. We were not going to stay the night but I still took a pair of clothes, sunscreen and all the necessary things.

At 7 in the morning, Ahaan picked me up. I had hated getting up so early. The only thing that got me through that was the thought of having a great time at the beach. We were taking two cars today. Siddharth and Sailee were coming with Aliya and Rohan. Ahaan and I were going in his car. Rahul couldn’t make it because last night had been too good for him to get up in the morning.

As I got in the car, I looked at Ahaan and greeted him, “Good Morning.”

“Good Morning, “he replied, “Got a pillow and a blanket for you back there. I will wake you up when we get there,” he added.

I looked behind and there was a small arrangement made for a sleepy-head like me. He had kept an eye cap for me too. I didn’t know what to say. I looked at him with awe and kissed him on his cheek. “Thanks a million. You saved yourself from spending a day with cranky me,” I winked and climbed in the back seat.

He chuckled and left and it wasn’t long before I was fast asleep.

As we got there, I heard a very loud voice shouting my name. “Kavya Wake Up”. I got up suddenly.

“You didn’t have to yell, you know?” a voice said. “You ok?” the same voice asked me. I opened my eyes properly now. I saw it was Ahaan looking at me with concern. “I’m good,” and adding in a whisper, “But she won’t be.”

He chuckled and led me out. We were going to camp out at the beach house. They had just reached and Aliya had found me sleeping. I knew what she was thinking. She thought I was treating Ahaan as my chauffeur or something. But I wasn’t. I freshened up and found the girls chatting in the kitchen. I joined them. The guys had gone out to check the lunch arrangements.

Aliya scowled at me, “You slept all the way here?”

“Ya, I kinda did,” I said sheepishly.

“You are one of a kind, you know? He must have felt so bad. I mean you were sleeping.”

“He was the one who put such an inviting arrangement for me. I don’t think he should be complaining.”

Aliya was stunned now. “He did all of that?”

I nodded a bit too strongly. I was beaming.

“He really likes you, “she whispered to herself.
