Waking up at 7AM was a task I never wanted to face again.

Actually, waking up at 7AM, jet-lagged and slightly hungover is a task I never wanted to face again.

Even the small breeze blowing in my face wasn't enough to wake me up, my head was pounding and my stomach was turning. Now I know how Matt feels.

Speaking of Matt, it was his idea in the first place to meet so early, God knows why. I could have done with a few more hours of sleep before I faced him but here I was, walking to the rocks, the place that we first met in some yoga leggings and a jumper with no make-up whatsoever.

When I made it up the hill, getting closer and closer to the rocks I saw the figure I had been dreading and I stop in my tracks. Did I really want to do this?

I turn to look behind me before sighing, realising that I should face the music. Once I get close enough he turns to face me, a small smile on his face. I lean up against one of the rocks facing the sea ahead. It was nothing like the day we first met, the sea was calm and the blue colour I was used to.

"How have you been?" Matt asks in a small voice, I cross my arms over my chest

"Fine."

"No, I mean really." Matt says, he stops looking at me, this time turning to face the sea ahead as well.

"Well apart from one of my best friends telling the media about Luke and I, I've been just fine."

"I didn't tell anyone anything. How many times am I going to have to tell you this? How much longer are you going to keep this hate act up for?"

"Until I get the truth. Until you tell me why you did it." I spit out, looking down at my converse clad feet.

"Well I can't tell you that because I didn't do it."

"Fine. Then tell me what happened the night of the party and why I ended up in Luke's bed with no recollection of leaving your house." I demand, finally turning my head to face him. "That was the night everything went wrong and that was the morning I found myself without my dress in Luke's bed and him being really off with my dad and I."

From the side his bruised cheek is more prominent and I'm aching to ask.

"I can't really remember much. I can remember you telling me about sleeping with Luke and then you fell asleep. I stayed in the room with you because you know how parties get, I didn't want anyone coming in. Your phone kept ringing, your dad was calling a lot but then Luke called and I don't know... I was so angry so I answered it, he didn't know who it was so I guess my first mistake was me telling him it was me." Matt says before looking over to me

The dark circles under his eyes tell me that he is probably suffering more than me right now, I mean, he's probably been drinking for a couple of days straight.

"He wanted to know why I was answering your phone and when I told him it was because you were drunk and passed out he got mad and started saying he was coming to mine to pick you up and bring you home." Matt takes a deep breath "I told him that you weren't leaving but he showed up anyway, came straight upstairs and burst through the door. He picked you up and I told him you weren't leaving but he told me to mind my business or something, I think you woke up... yeah I think you opened your eyes and you said my name but when Luke talked to you I think you said for him to leave you alone or something but he wouldn't listen to me or you and I let you go with him because I thought you would have been okay... you were okay right?"

"I assume so yeah... I mean he didn't do anything to me if that's what you mean. I just don't know why he would get angry with you, you were doing nothing wrong."
