Matt and I arrive at Luke's to the scene of Calum standing outside with my dad, both of them looking completely done with everything. Matt stops the car and I look at him

"Okay I'm suddenly feeling like this is not going to work and we're just going to look stupid." I say quickly and Matt laughs

"So you don't want to do it?" Matt asks and I groan

"It's just that my dad might kill us and I'm not up for annoying him anymore and I'm certainly not up for him killing you." I tell him and Matt nods

"Okay, so what do you need me to do?"

"I need you to be witness if Chrissy murders me." I say and Matt laughs but when he sees my serious expression he stops

"You are so weird."

"That's why we're friends." I grin before pushing the door open.

When my father and Calum see us however no one could be prepared for the look they were both giving us and we weren't even acting like we were together

"What's going on?" I ask

"Nothing, how are you?" Dad asks, opening his arms. I give him a tight squeeze

"Matt." I hear Calum say

"Hey."

"I'm good. Why do you both look like you have seen a puppy being run over?" I ask before pulling away

"Because we're at a stupid dinner." Calum grunts "I don't even like her why am I here to celebrate the fact that there is going to be a mini her running around in six months time?" Calum sighs and I can't help but laugh a little

"Because we're here to support Luke." Michael says, poking his head out from the front door "We should go in Luke's going to be down in a sec."

We all make our way into the house and the first thing that hits me is the overwhelming smell of perfume and scented candles. This is definitely not what Luke's home is supposed to smell like.

"You coming home tonight?" Dad asks, turning to face me and I nod

"Probably. Matt talked some sense into me earlier." I chuckle, looking up at Matt who just smiles

"Oh Aria, so glad you could make it. It's nice to see you have brought your boyfriend too. Hi, I'm Chrissy, I believe we met at Aria's welcoming party?" Chrissy says way too over enthusiastically as soon as we enter the lounge, she sticks her hand out for Matt to shake and I eye the rest of the room warily.

"We're not together, we're just friends." I tell her

I notice a strange man and woman standing across the room gripping onto their champagne flutes for life and it hits me that that must be Chrissy's parents. Of course they looked like rich, entitled, white people still stuck in the 1950's. I roll my eyes.

"Oh, I just thought since you had been living with him that you were together."

"You've been living with the boy?" Chrissy's mother says, a hint of curiousness in her voice and I narrow my eyes in her direction

"Not living, just staying with him. He got a new place and I hadn't seen him in a while so I wanted to spend some time with him."

"And how do you feel about this Ashton?" Chrissy's mother questions and I almost start to laugh.

Where are the hidden cameras because surely I am being pranked?

"I uh, it's okay if it's what she wants to do?" Dad says but he sounds very unsure of himself to which I can't really blame him. I've been a handful these days.
