"Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost." Matt says once we have pulled up outside of my house and I just nod. "Are you okay? I mean I know Stan was ignorant but it was nothing personal. He's like that with everyone." I nod again
"It's okay Matt. I'll see you soon... yeah?"
"Yeah." I smile at him once again and open the car door but before I close it again Matt leans over "Oh Aria, tomorrow some of my friends from college are coming and we were thinking about going to the beach. Do you want to come? You can bring a few friends if you want." He grins
"Yeah. That sounds good. See you tomorrow." I quickly say. I take a deep breath once I'm away from his car and I hear him pulling away. I stand outside my front door for a few seconds not wanting to go in at all.
I'm just about to turn my back on the door a run like the wimp I am to Stella's house but the door quickly opens and I'm face to face with my very angry looking father.
"Where the hell where you?" He asks in a dangerously low voice
"I was with Matt." I tell him and he grabs my wrist, bringing me through the door. He points to the door separating me from the lounge so I take that as my cue to go in and to my surprise there is no one in the room.
"Why didn't you reply to me? I was worried sick Aria!" Dad yells and I set my bag down on the couch
"I'm sorry! I left my phone and my bag in his bedroom." I say without thinking and then I remember that I'm talking to my very strict father.
"His bedroom?" My eyes widen
"Chill, we just talked." I defensively say
"Why did you go to his house? Do you know how dangerous that is? He could have been a murderer!" Dad once again yells
"So I'm guessing Miss Irwin has returned from her travels." Michael says as he pushes open the door. Calum is following behind him and then I see Luke. Great.
"Where were you?" Jess asks as she appears in the doorway, she has her eyebrows raised and is looking at me with concern. Although now she's angry with me, I'm still so glad I have her in my life. She's like a mother to me. Well, what I imagine having a mother would feel like.
"I was with Matt!" I yell out, I fold my arms across my chest
"And why didn't you answer your phone? I thought you were only going to town with him, the shops in town closed a few hours ago." Jess asks in a sassy tone, I look at dad once again.
"We went to his house and I left my phone in his bedroom."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. You were in a stranger's bedroom?" Luke asks, he's perched on the arm of a chair and his mouth is hanging open with a look that screams 'Why are you so stupid?'
When what Luke had said registers in everyone elses head, my father gives him a warning look but no one says anything.
"He's not a stranger." I defend
"You met him once and then he just brings you to his house? What if he had have attacked you?" Calum asks and I sigh loudly
"He wasn't going to attack me! We went to his house, I met his family, I ate some lasagne and then I came home. It wasn't exactly the 'Wild Adventures of Aria Irwin.'" I say with a roll of my eyes "And I would tell you about his family if you all weren't being a group of assholes." I blurt out
"Assholes? Us? It's like you don't know us at all." Michael asks with a smirk and I narrow my eyes at him
"Ugh. Whatever. I'm gonna go eat." I pout before picking my bag up again
