"Are you sure you're going to be okay here by yourself?" Aria's dad, Ashton, questions, he's in the process of zipping his suitcase up and when he's finished he gets to his feet and looks at her. She nods her head and leans against the door frame with her arms folded across her torso.
"Please stop worrying dad! I'm eighteen! You know everything is going to be okay... what's the worst that could happen?" Aria questions him, he tilts his head to the side and looks to the roof as if he's thinking of something and she shakes her head "See? Nothing!" She laughs and he laughs along
"Okay, well you know you can phone me if something's wrong right?"
"Yes dad, but seeing as you're going to be halfway across the country I don't think you're going to be much use to me if someone breaks in." His eyes widen as if he hasn't thought about that risk and he sighs loudly
"Fine. I suppose you could call Luke but that's only for major emergencies!" Her dad says, she blushes slightly and bites her lip remembering the text message she had accidently sent her dad
"Dad, I told you it was an ongoing joke between me and Stella! Plus, you told him and made everything a lot more awkward than it needs to be so there's no chance of me ringing him." Aria huffs and Ashton gives her a stern look before wrapping his arms around her
"I love you."
"I love you too." Aria says back, he squeezes her tightly before lifting her off the ground and she giggles loudly
"Dad!" She whines, he puts her back down and sighs
"When did my baby get so grown up?" Aria rolls her eyes before walking into his bedroom and lifting his suitcase off the ground and hands it to him
"Go! Have fun with Amanda and the guys and their girls." She says, he eyes her warily before carrying his suitcase down the steps of their house, Aria follows him down to the front door and he turns around once again to hug her
"Okay, remember, emergency money is beside the toaster and I should be home in two days okay?" She nods her head
"Have fun, love you!" Aria watches as he gets into his car and she waves him off before shutting the door and locking it. She quickly pulls her phone from her pocket and composes a quick text to her friend Stella.
To; Stella
He's gone, come over and we'll order pizza!
She throws herself down onto the sofa and flicks the television on, thinking about how happy her dad has been for the past few months ever since he met Amanda and she couldn't help but think that he definitely deserved her, then her mind wondered to the other guys in the band and thought about how happy each of them were with their wives and families, all except for Luke. Rain starts to come down outside and Aria sighs before turning a re-run of Keeping up with the Kardashians up louder. Fifteen minutes later and her phone buzzes in her hand with a text message from Stella
From; Stella
I don't think I can make it to yours today, sorry! xx
Aria sighs loudly before peering out at the dark sky, it looks like it's about to storm so she quickly runs upstairs to put on her favourite oversized t-shirt and to take off her vest and shorts, she makes her way back downstairs with a blanket and throws it over herself before snuggling back into her original position.
An hour later she wakes up from her nap when thunder rumbles through the house, the room is dark and her heart immediately skips a few beats, realising the electricity must have went out Aria quickly takes her phone out and switches the flashlight on, she takes deep breaths and she opens her contacts and scrolls through until she finds the name she was looking for.
"Luke."
