Chapter 22

*Im going to do the engagement chapter next, but I want to continue from the kinda cliff hanger that I left y'all on.*

-=- Rob's POV -=-

So.. The guys pranked Maddie, but she freaked out, and I have a feeling that it's something deeper than what we know. I think it's from her past.

I walk upstairs quietly, and slowly, they gave me some sleeping pills to give to her; that way she can calm down. Everyone was down stairs, whispering worriedly. The sun was shining, but a scared haze swept over the household.
I knock on Maddie's door.

No response.

I walk in, she's having a panic attack.

"What are you doing here?" She asks/demands.

"I didn't help with the prank, and I wanted to see if you were alright; You can tell me anything you know." I tell her.

She looks uneasy, and like she's debating with herself. I don't want to push it, but we kinda need to know this stuff.

"Um.. Okay, Do you want to hear what happened to my parents, and my two sisters?" She asks.

"If you are comfortable with telling me; yes, I would love to hear what happened." I say.

She motions me to sit down on her bed, so I obey. She leans her head on my shoulder; not in a romantic way, in a brotherly way.

"It all happened 8 years ago. I was eight years old. My parents were kind of shady people, we lived in a bad part of town. But my sisters, I had one older and one younger. My older one was four years older than me. Her name was Elizabeth. She was so beautiful. She had an elegant way about her. She didn't deserve... What happened.." She takes a pause. "My other sister, she was 4 at the time. She was the greatest little sister. She followed me around like a puppy, her name was Rebecca. The sweetest little thing. If I saw her now; I would recognize her immediately. Even though it's been years, she looked older than 4. She didn't deserve what happened either.." She pauses again. Tearing up.
"One day, I was playing with Rebecca and Eliza. Mom and dad were in the front room. Then we heard gun shots. Me Eliza and Rebecca saw 5 men, dressed in all black, with a mask on.. Holding guns, and other weapons. I watched My parents get shot right in front of me. Eliza looked at us with eyes of pure fear, then she grabbed Rebecca, and me, we ran. We ran so fast. I tripped, and told them to keep going. That was the last time I saw them. My best hopes is that they are alive. I pray that they have just as amazing life as I have now. I have never forgot; and never will." By now she was sobbing, but she seemed calmer.

"I am so so sorry; if we knew, we would've never done that." I apologize. I pull her into a brotherly hug, wiping away her tears. I hand her the sleeping pills, and tell her what they are. She nods, and swallows them.
"Goodnight Maddie." I say.
"Goodnight. Thank you for being there for me" she says, and then falls beck into bed, and drifts off to sleep. I don't know if she'll ever trust them again. That's traumatizing. I have to go tell the boys what she went through.

A/N
Well.. This book is slowly coming to an end. I know it's shorter, but I don't want to drag one book on forever. It's not coming to an end just yet, but soonish. 10 chapters maximum. (Lol we'll see if that's accurate)
Next chapter will be then engagement (of Mitch and Jess) and that stuff chapter!
