"They think I have a crush on him?" Pete was so angry, he looked like he was about to explode. "Wait. How often do you hang out with them?" Pete felt betrayed, it had been only three days since the encounter in the music room, and it seemed like his friends were already liking the other group more than him.
"Christ's sake, Pete, calm down. I only talked to Frank in science and Gerard in gym. But they invited us to hangout after school today at the Way's house." Joe sat against the shed, before pointing out,
"And you're coming."Patrick and Andy nodded in agreement.
Pete felt fury rushing to his head.
"So now you're forcing me to hang out with him?" He yelled, gripping his water bottle tightly, which crumpled under the tight hold, spilling water over Pete's hand. He barely noticed though, he was too busy thinking about how horrible it would be to talk to a douche like Mikey.Patrick sighed, "No, we only want you to be friends with his friends, they aren't that bad. Mikey doesn't talk much, but he seems pretty shy. He's okay, really."
Pete couldn't stand his friends' stupidity. They really didn't understand. He despised Mikey.
"I'm going for a walk." Pete grumbled as he stumbled off, thinking. He wasn't exactly sure why he hated Mikey, he just did. They've hated each other for as long as he can remember, but only recently have his friends tried to stop it. He really liked his friends, so of course he believed them when they said the others were cool. He just refused to believe that anyone who liked Mikey was in the right state of mind.
He should give them a chance. But only for Patrick, Joe and Andy.
So he did, that afternoon he was going to hang out at Gerard and Mikey's house, much to his annoyance.+
Mikey sat cross legged on the couch, where he was playing some fighting videogame with Ray and Frank while Gerard sat expectantly by the door.
Mikey laughed as he shot down the other two, then glanced up at his brother in concern, before asking,
"Gee, are you okay?"
But before the older brother could reply, the doorbell rang, chiming through the house. He jumped up and opened the door immediately with a massive grin on his face."Guys! You came!" And soon enough, the room was filled with another four boys. Gerard smiled brightly at them, and Patrick, Joe, and Andy smiled back. But Pete was already busy scowling at Mikey, who hadn't noticed Pete or the others yet.
He was sitting happily on the couch, grin across his usual poker face, and he was laughing as Ray jabbed him in the side.
"Haha Raymond! You just can't stand that I won!" He laughed as he turned to Ray and tackled him."Oi, fuck off, Michael!" Ray laughed and grunted as he struggled under Mikey, who was tickling his neck and giggling stupidly.
Pete watched from the doorway, smiling softly. He wasn't exactly sure why. This was Mikey, come on. But something about how sweet and cute Mikey was being made Pete smile. Mikey never seemed this human, and Pete was surprised that Mikey actually had a sense of fun.
Gerard coughed, interrupting the funny scene. The pair looked up, still grinning, but Mikey's face almost immediately fell into a large frown as he saw Pete in the corner, who was still smiling slightly.
"Creep." He muttered before sitting up and turning back to the screen.Pete flipped him off, before Gerard yelled eagerly,
"How about a competition guys?" He grinned at everyone, "anyone fancy a Mario Kart race-off?"+
Everyone raced in pairs, Patrick and Frank, Joe and Andy, Ray and Gerard. This left the last race to be Mikey and Pete. The pair sat on opposite ends of the couch, eager to stay away from each other.
"You should be toad, he kinda looks like you." Pete snapped, before Mikey laughed,
"Sure thing Princess Peach... or should I say, Princess Pete."Mikey was very competitive when it came to videogames. But it didn't matter who he played with, he always put on his special competitive attitude. It wasn't a bad one, it was actually quite funny watching him yell instead of his usual quiet personality, which is why the other six guys sat on the floor and watched them play.
"You fucking gave me a blue shell! I was first!" Mikey laughed.
Pete smirked and said, "Haha who's first now, Way!"
"I'll shove this goddamn useless green shell up your fucking ugly dress if you don't shut up, Princess Peter."
The race ended with Mikey last and Pete second to last.
"I won!" Pete yelled, laughing as he fell back onto the couch.Mikey collapsed on the couch, also laughing.
"Only 'cause I let you, bitch."Gerard was very happy to finally see his brother get along with his worst enemy, and the others glanced at each other across the floor, grinning. He spoilt the moment though, as he spoke up,
"Does anyone want drinks?"Pete and Mikey suddenly stopped laughing at each other, and jumped away as if the other had some sort of contagious disease, before growling swears under their breath.
They mumbled as they walked into the kitchen along with the others. The rest of the afternoon was fun for them all, but Pete and Mikey glared at each other every five minutes, occasionally flipping the other off - wanting to express their hatred for the other.
"You'd think they're a married couple." Patrick whispered to Gerard, who turned and sighed,
"Never going to happen."Joe walked over, overhearing this and grinned as he sipped his can of beer,
"You see, me and dear Patrick have betted on this." Joe said as he slung an arm over Patrick's shoulders.Gerard laughed at this,
"Seriously? So have me and Ray."It was like everyone just knew that Mikey and Pete would be perfect together so everybody shipped them, but in reality, they knew the pair would never date. They hated each other too much.
