If you looked at the group of friends from a distance, they seemed fine, as if everything was normal. But really, things were falling apart terribly.
They were, once more, gathered in the music room. Gerard was clinging onto Patrick's shirt, which was damp from Gerard's tears.
Mikey was awkwardly patting his brother on the back, he had been reminded that they were related and he was trying to fit the role in hope of remembering him. Pete was staring longingly at Mikey, knowing it wasn't fair to make a move on him - Mikey still loved him for sure, he just doesn't remember it at the moment. Pete desperately wanted him to remember.
The other difference in the group was that Frank had disappeared. He hadn't been seen since he told Gerard that he had cheated, and despite how much everyone hated him, they were slightly worried about where he had gone.
Mikey stopped patting Gerard's back and turned to the others, who were either on their phones or ghosting their hands over their instruments.
"Why would my parents kick me out of my house and practically beat me to death because I'm supposedly gay?" He had asked possibly the hundredth question that day, but everyone understood, considering he can't remember a thing and was only living by what everyone was telling him.
Joe sighed and put down his guitar. "Because some people think gay is bad. It's probably best if you don't remember those shits."
Mikey nodded slowly, looking at the complete stranger to him that was supposed to be his friend. This was going to take a long time.

Brendon and Ryan were sitting behind the sheds at the back of the school. Ryan sat on Brendon's lap, trying to catch his boyfriend's attention.
"Ryan, can you stop fidgeting? I'm trying to concentrate." Brendon groaned, barely looking up from his phone."What's up with you, Bren? You've never been like this, you're supposed to be the excited, annoying one." Ryan pouted, wrapping his arms around Brendon's neck.
Brendon closed his eyes as he switched off his phone, placing it down on the tree stump beside him.
"It's because I fucking care Ryan. I don't want you to fucking leave, so I'm trying my hardest to get anyone to look after you."He looked into Ryan's eyes, which were tearing up. Ryan bit his lip before moving his hand to Brendon's cheek.
"Brendon. It's inevitable, I'm going to leave." He pressed a soft kiss on Brendon's forehead and continued, "so how about we make the most of the time we have?"
Brendon nodded, tears beginning to roll down his cheeks.
"I love you, Ryan.""I love you too, Brendon. We can make this work."

"What about the time at the party? Where everyone saw us?" Pete had bombarded Mikey with more questions for the past half-hour, they were supposed to be doing their science work, but Pete was just desperate for Mikey to recognise him. He missed having normal Mikey there with him.
"Uh, no? I remember a party... I was outside..." Mikey was silently recounting his thoughts, really pushing his brain.
"And you told me you loved me!" Pete whispered excitedly, but Mikey only looked confused, before smiling widely,
"Where we met Tyler and Josh!"
Pete groaned, burying his head in his hands. Mikey had been remembering people all day, when Pete was desperately attempting to get Mikey to remember him.
Mikey had remembered all his friends plus Brendon and Ryan, but he felt like there was a huge chunk of his memory missing. Most of it was back now, but there was still an important part missing.
