Gerard was adjusting his freshly washed black hair in the mirror, pulling at odd strands and grumbling.
"Gerard, you fucking princess! Your hair is fine, can we go already?" Mikey sat, slumped on the armchair, groaning as he was watching Gerard obsess over his hair.
"Fine isn't good enough! I need perfect hair to impress dear Frankie." Gerard bit his lip as he combed the back of his head with his fingers. He had a crush on his best friend for years, and tonight would be the night he would confess.
Mikey sighed. It was obvious how much the pair were in love with each other, and it was actually getting to the point where their oblivion was possibly just plain stupidity. "I'm sure Frank would like your hair whatever it looks like, let's just go."
Gerard turned and smiled innocently at Mikey, and whispered,
"I'm sure he'll especially like it when he runs his fingers thr-"Mikey's eyes widened as he imagined what his brother was going to say, and interrupted him before he could finish that thought.
"Time to go, then!" He practically yelled, even though his brother was right in front of him, making Gerard giggle. The two hopped in the car, ready to go to Brendon's. They picked up Ray on the way, who was grinning widely in the backseat.
"You okay there, Ray?" Gerard peered in the small car mirror at Ray, who nodded."I heard Christa is coming to Brendon's party, I'm hoping to make a good impression." He wiggled his eyebrows in a suggestive manner, making the two in the front burst into fits of laughter.
Ray's face dropped, "What?"+
The three stepped out the car, which was parked outside the large house. There were several people outside, including what looked like some guy smashing a ukulele, while the other one was crying.
It was probably best to leave them alone. The house was full of people roughly their age, and Gerard leaned down to whisper in Mikey's ear,
"I never knew Brendon had any friends apart from Spencer."Mikey couldn't help but smile at that, and smiled wider as he spotted the rest of his friends in the corner of the room, Patrick, Joe, Andy, Pete and Frank plus Ryan and Brendon himself.
Brendon grinned as he saw the three walk in and beckoned them over, handing each of them a red cup as they came, most likely filled with cheap shitty beer.
Pete stared into his drink as if it was doing something more interesting than just sit in a cup. He was nervous about getting too drunk and accidentally telling someone about his feelings for Mikey, or worse - acting upon them in front of people they knew.
He knew the best idea would be to not talk to Mikey at all, and maybe only have one drink. He looked up at his friends, and saw Gerard and Frank flirting profusely, while Mikey watched in mild horror. He caught Mikey's gaze and smiled at him, but he quickly looked back into his cup, blushing. He didn't want to get caught looking at Mikey in any other way than hatred.

Mikey couldn't stand watching Joe grind on Andy any longer, the two were clearly wasted and he didn't want to see what was going to happen next.
He jumped up from the couch, and found himself stood face to face with Brendon, who was grinning,
"Here you are, your friends are about to play truth or dare, care to join?" But before Mikey could respond, he was dragged by the wrist into the basement. There were already several boys sitting in a circle in the middle of the room, faces lit by the small lightbulb dangling from the ceiling.
He sat next to Frank and Ray, and looked around to see everyone, Frank, Gerard, Patrick, Dallon, Spencer, Ryan, Pete and Ray. Brendon sat in between Spencer and Ryan and spoke up,
"Right, everyone's here, shall we play?" There were half hearted nods across the circle, and Mikey bit his lip anxiously.
