Brendon was expecting a shitstorm. He sat on the floor in Spencer's room, awaiting the moment when Ryan would crack and scream at him. He was bracing himself, he knew he deserved it, and he knew he was hated by Ryan.
But Ryan only sat on the bed, and cried.
Brendon had sat with his eyes closed, and when he opened them after a minute, he wasn't expecting to see Ryan with tears pouring down his face. He thought Ryan would be angry, or pretend he was fine.
He stood up, and glanced at Spencer, who was biting his lip while tilting his head to the side, watching Ryan, a serious look on his face. The difference was that he knew perfectly well why Ryan was upset, and Brendon was yet to find out. Brendon then proceeded to sit next to Ryan on the bed, hoping he would stop crying somehow.
He hesitated, wanting to put an arm around the boy, but considering the circumstances, that probably wouldn't be best move.
So they sat awkwardly, Brendon watching Ryan cry helplessly."What did I do?" Brendon broke the silence, wanting to find an answer to the question that's been bugging him for weeks. It just came out, he couldn't stop himself - he needed to know why his boyfriend was avoiding him. Spencer glared at Brendon, and he instantly assumed he had said something wrong.
"You- you don't know what you did?" Ryan's voice cracked and he hid behind his hands. Brendon sighed, he hated seeing the boy he cared about being so hurt, as much as he hated to admit it.
"No, Ryan, I was drunk as fuck! I was stupid and now I can't remember a thing! Whatever I did is cleary tearing you apart... and that's... that's tearing me apart." Brendon mumbled the last part, embarrassed with the fact that he felt the need to open up, even if it was Ryan.
Ryan looked up as he said this. He wiped his red eyes and smiled at Brendon,
"Do you- do you mean that?" He choked on his words through small sobs, which had quietened down significantly.Brendon sighed and placed a hand on Ryan's knee. He really hated expressing his feelings, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
"Yes, Ryan." Brendon looked straight into his eyes. "I... I love you. Please talk to me again."Ryan's eyes widened, he knew that Brendon never liked showing emotion, so this was fucking unreal.
"Oh my God, Brendon, I love you too!" He pulled Brendon into a bone-crushing hug, and the pair were smiling hard, holding on as tight as they could.Spencer hated to ruin the moment, but he was third wheeling the couple in his room, and he didn't want them doing much more than hugging while they were in there. So he coughed loudly, and Ryan and Brendon reluctantly pulled apart.
"So you guys are good. Go and get ice cream or something." He shooed them out of his house, because Spencer was tired with all the love in the moment, it was more than enough for him.

School the next day was a whole lot more joyful, the mood had certainly uplifted. Mikey and Pete walked shamelessly into school, holding hands with genuine happy smiles stuck on their faces.
The group was even happier to see Pete happy, and to finally have Mikey back, so they greeted the couple carefully, with big grins and without stupid remarks.Brendon and Ryan skipped into school, humming, and everyone was laughing at the two, who only hummed their song louder, ignoring the rest.
"Sorry, can't hear you over the sound of Wizard Of Oz!" Brendon yelled with the biggest grin over his face.Everyone felt perfect, and everything seemed perfect.
