Pete was on the phone to Patrick, lying on his back against his bed, complaining about boys. Specifically, Mikey Way.
"I took him everywhere!" Pete moaned, sighing in exasperation, "He just won't remember anything!"
Patrick nodded, even though Pete couldn't see, and he thought for a moment. "Have you only tried to remind him of good things?"
"What do you mean?" Pete sat up, intrigued. If this meant a way of Mikey remembering him, he was most likely going to do it.
"I mean, you've both been hating each other longer than you've loved each other. It's probably a bigger part in his memory, hating you." Patrick suggested his idea, which Pete admitted was pretty smart, he hadn't thought of that. Although it was risky, it was definitely more likely to bring back memories of him to Mikey.
"If that'll get him to remember me, it's worth a shot." Pete smiled as he hung up, forgetting that Patrick called him up for a different reason. Patrick called to talk about Gerard, but Pete had managed to divert the conversation to the other Way brother.
Patrick sat in his kitchen and sighed, Gerard and Mikey were still asleep in the spare room, so he was alone in eating breakfast before school. It seemed that, lately, only Andy, Joe, Ray, and himself were the only people flying straight. Everyone else was wobbling off course, their lives being messed up in some way.
But then Gerard had to fuck everything up by kissing him, Patrick was only trying to be a good friend, but now he was questioning his entire sanity. He was almost certain he was straight, he didn't like Gerard in that way, surely? It was also the fear of Gerard liking him, because he didn't want to break Gerard's heart like Frank had done.
Just as Patrick was unknowingly watching his cornflakes go soggy, the very boy he was thinking about walked in, rubbing his eyes.
"Morning 'Trick." Gerard yawned as he sat on the opposite end of the table to Patrick, who was smiling nervously.
"Hey Gee. You... alright?" Patrick scratched his neck, trying to avoid Gerard's solid gaze. Gerard nodded in response, turning his head to Mikey who had just walked into the room, still half asleep.
"Has anyone seen my glasses?" Mikey mumbled, patting his pockets to search for the glasses.
"They're next to the microwave." Patrick pointed behind his shoulder without turning to look at them, and Gerard watched in amazement. This boy was just perfect. "And be prepared for another day of Pete trying to get you to remember him, he's fucking desperate."
"Jesus Christ." Mikey sighed, all he knew of Pete was a desperate guy that was constantly talking about past moments they had apparently had together.

Patrick liked arriving at school early, because it meant he had more time to himself in the morning, before anyone else arrived. This meant, now that he had responsibility over Gerard and Mikey, they had to come too.
As soon as Mikey entered the double doors of the main school building, he was confronted by a familiar face.
"Mikey!" Pete yelled, giving the taller boy a crushing hug.Mikey awkwardly patted Pete on the back, remembering the previous few days where Pete had said they were in a relationship. He hadn't found this hard to believe, considering Pete was so affectionate. Yet he just couldn't form any scenarios in his head of them together, so it just didn't feel right.
"Hey, Pete." Mikey laughed nervously, and Pete pulled away, smiling.
The pair walked around the near-empty school grounds for a while, before arriving at a bench outside the art block.
Pete sat down, and Mikey followed shortly after, very confused.
