Katherine P.O.V
Slowly, Dean removed the phone from his ear and hung up, his face grim. "They've got Dad."He growled, starting to pace.
"Meg?"I asked, shock in my voice. Dean nodded."What'd she say?"
"I just told you, Kat."Dean snapped, clearly upset. He forced himself to take a deep breath to try and calm himself, rubbing a hand down his face."Okay. Okay."
He looked around and walked towards the bedside table where the colt lay. His hand hesitated slightly before he picked it up and tucked it into the back of his jeans."What are you doing, Dean?"Sam asked as his brother started to gather up his bag.
"We got to go."Dean ordered as he moved to the bed.
"Why?"I questioned, following to stand behind him.
Dean looked back at me as he put on his jacket."Because the demon knows we're in Salvation, alright. It knows we got the Colt. It's got Dad – it's probably coming for us next."He grabbed my duffel bag off the bed and shoved it into my arms as Sam came to stand beside us.
"Good. We've still got three bullets left. Let it come."Sam growled, still being irrational. His mind was still on one thing and one thing only; revenge.
"Listen, tough guy, we're not ready, okay?"I snapped as I flung my bag over my shoulder.
"We don't know how many of them are out there. Now, we're no good to anybody dead."Dean said, backing me up. He looked up to Sam, his voice holding authority."We're leaving.... now!"

The Impala sped down the road, turning sharply round a corner, sending me flying across the seat and into the window. I groaned as I rubbed my shoulder and watched Sam constantly send Dean looks as if he wanted to say something.
"I'm telling you, Dean, we could have taken him."Sam finally said making me sigh.
"What we need is a plan. Now, they're probably keeping Dad alive, we just gotta figure out where. They're gonna wanna trade him for the gun."Dean explained but Sam just shook his head making Dean glance over at him."What?"
"Dean, if that were true, why didn't Meg mention a trade?Dad, he might be...."Sam trailed off, his voice becoming thick with emotion.
"Don't!"Dean snapped, glaring over at his brother.
"Look, I don't want to believe it any more than you. But if he is, all the more reason to kill this damn thing. We still have the Colt. We can still finish the job."Sam tried to reason. I looked at him shocked. When did this job become so important to him? When was it even more important than his family?
"Screw the job, Sam!"I exploded making his head snap back to me in surprise.
"Kat, I'm just trying to do what he would want. He would want us to keep going."Sam pointed out but it only made me more angry. I could see by the way Dean's hands tensed on the steering wheel that it was having the same effect on him.
"Quit talking about him like he's dead already. Listen to me, everything stops until we get him back, you understand me? Everything."Dean hissed, his hard gaze falling back to the road. Sam paused, taking a deep breath to calm himself.
"So how do we find him?"He finally asked.
"Maybe we go to Lincoln. Start at the warehouse where he was taken."I suggested as I lent forward to rest between the boys.
"Come on, Kat, you really think these demons are going to leave a trail?"Sam pointed out, shooting down my idea. I sighed and nodded my head.
"You're right. We need help."Dean muttered, stepping on the gas even more.
"Where are we going?"Sam asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
Dean glanced over at him slightly."Sioux Falls."
I raised my eyebrows, a slight smile settling on my face."We're going home."

The Impala drove into the familiar junk yard, the broken and rusty cars stacked into piles. It came to a stop by a truck where a dog led on the bonnet, chained down. A large smile spread on my face and I leaped out the car. The dog's head perked up at the sound of the door closing and he jumped up on the car, his tail wagging excitedly as he caught sight of me.
"Rumsfeld!"I yelled, running towards him and scratching his ears."Hey boy, you missed me?"He licked up my face making me giggle and back away, wiping the saliva from my cheek. Dean and Sam stood behind me, bags flung over their shoulders and smiling at the scene before them. I spun to face them and caught my bag just as Dean threw it at me. "Come on boys."
I started to walk towards the porch, stopping at the door and knocking on it a few times. I know this was my home but I wouldn't wanna just walk in, not with this business. A few seconds later and the door swung open revealing my dad's face.
"Kat!"He exclaimed as a smile broke onto his face and he pulled me into a strong hug.
"Hey, dad."I laughed as I wrapped my arms around him. He stepped back and nodded to the boys before stepping to the side, holding the door open.
"Well, come on in."
Inside was just as I remembered it. Well, it as messier with the piles of books on the floor and papers stuck on the walls but that was what I expected from my dad. He was a man who lived on his own. I tried to clean and organize whenever I came home but that became less and less as I got older. The last time I was here was after the shifter case in St. Louis. Dean and Sam walked into what my dad used as an office, the large desk pushed into the corner, stacks of books covering it.
I excused myself, running upstairs to shower and change out of my clothes. The warm water cascaded down on my skin, relaxing my muscles and forcing a gentle sigh from my lips. When I was washed, I got out and walked down the hall to my bedroom . It had changed over the years, suiting my age and style. Of course, it hadn't been decorated since I was a teenager and left for the road. Once inside,I dried and changed into different clothes then jogged back downstairs to offer my help.
Sam was sat at my dad's desk and was engrossed in a large book while Dean was stood by the wall, inspecting the papers pinned to the wall. I joined him and smiled when he jumped, not realizing my presence. Dad walked into the room after a minute but had three flasks in his hands."Here you go."
I looked over my shoulder at him as he held out two of the flasks towards me and Dean. I raised an eyebrow and smirked."What is this – holy water?"
"Those one are."He said and held up his own flask."This is whiskey."
I frowned down at the flask in my hand and looked up at my father who took a swig of whiskey. He looked to me and smiled before handing me the flask. I grinned at him and took a sip, the liquid burning as it traveled down my throat. I gave it to Dean who did the same, looking up at Dad."Bobby, thanks. Thanks for everything. To tell you the truth, I wasn't sure we should come."
"Nonsense. Your Daddy needs help."Dad shrugged off.
"Well, yeah, but last time he saw you, I mean, you did threaten to blast him full of buckshot. Cocked the shotgun and everything."Dean pointed out and I grimaced. I remember that day, didn't think I would get to see them again.
"Yeah, well, what can I say?"Dad huffed, placing his hands on his hips."John just has that effect on people."
"Yeah, I guess he does."Dean smirked, nodding his head.
"None of that matters now. All that matters is that you get him back."Dad sighed. I smiled sadly at him and patted Dean on the shoulder in comfort.
"Bobby, this book.... I've never seen anything like it."Sam spoke up switching all our attention to him.
"Key of Solomon?"Dad asked, walking over to the desk and sitting on the corner."It's the real deal, alright."
"And these, uh, these protective circles. They really work?"Sam asked, pointing down to the page. Dad looked down at it and smirked.
"Hell, yeah. You get a demon in - they're trapped. Powerless. It's like a Satanic roach motel."Dad joked causing Sam to chuckle.
"Man, knows his stuff."Dean stated, moving forward to stand before the desk. I narrowed my eyes at him and followed. He looked over and smirked."And you Kat. You know a lot of stuff."He teased in a baby voice, ruffling my hair.
I smacked his hand away and pouted making all three men laugh."I'll tell you something else, too. This is some serious crap you guys stepped in."Dad said, becoming serious again.
"Oh, yeah? How's that?"Sam questioned.
"Normal year, I hear of, say, three demonic possessions. Maybe four, tops."Dad started, looking between all of our faces.
"Yeah?"Dean inquired.
"This year I hear of 27 so far."Dad said making my eyes widen slightly."You get what I'm saying? More and more demons are walking among us – a lot more."
"Do you know why?"I asked, crossing my arms over my chest and sitting on the other corner of the desk.
"No, but I know it's something big. The storm's coming, and you boys, your Daddy, Kat – you are smack in the middle of it."Dad said grimly, his eyes flickering to me. I could see slight fear in his eyes at the thought of me being in so much danger. He had worked his entire life to keep me safe and that was all going down the drain. I opened my mouth to say something but it was cut off as the dog starting barking outside. Dad's head snapped round to face the window."Rumsfeld."
I got up and went over to the window, looking through the shutters. The chain hung limply off the pole, the dog no where to be seen. My heart clenched in worry as I searched the yard with my eyes only to find no trace."Something's wrong."I exclaimed, spinning round.
At that moment, the door was kicked in making me jump and snap my head in that direction. A black haze appeared first before it dissolved to reveal Meg. She sauntered in, a wide smile on her face. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Dean slip the flask of holy water out his jacket.
"No more crap, okay?"Meg smirked. Dean started towards her, unscrewing the flask. Meg's eyes caught the movement and she lifted her hand, flicking it causing Dean to fly across the room into a stack of book.I gasped and moved to go to him but Sam gripped my arm, dragging me and my dad behind him."I want the Colt, Sam – the real Colt – right now."
Sam started to slowly back up forcing us to walk backwards. Meg followed, her eyes narrowing dangerously."We don't have it on us. We buried it."Sam lied.
"Didn't I say "no more crap"? I swear – after everything I heard about you Winchesters, I got to tell you, I'm a little underwhelmed."Meg hissed, her voice starting to raise as she stalked towards us."First Johnny tries to pawn off a fake gun, and then he leaves the real gun with you two chuckleheads. Lackluster, men. I mean, did you really think I wouldn't find you?"
Dean appeared in the doorway making me sigh in relief. Meg followed my gaze, turning to see Dean's smirking face."Actually, we were counting on it." They stared at each other for a second before Dean's eyes flickered towards the ceiling. Meg looked up to see a large devil's trap etched up there.
"Gotcha."I chuckled, steeping out from behind Sam to lean against the wall. She growled at me, leaping forward only to be thrown back, trapped inside the circle.
We had managed to secure her to a chair although it was highly difficult with her struggling. Dad had left to do something leaving us three in the room to watch her. The air was thick with tension as my eyes locked onto Meg. Dean and Sam stood on the other side of the doorway watching her but Meg's eyes remained trained on me. For some reason, it wasn't unsettling in the slightest. I didn't feel scared as her cold eyes searched mine.
"You know, if you wanted to tie me up, all you had to do was ask."She spoke up, her voice low as her eyes finally switched to the Winchester's. Dad walked in carrying a large canister of salt and stood in front of us.
"I salted the door and windows. If there are any demons out there – they ain't getting in."He told us. Dean nodded and stood up from where he was lent against the wall, moving around Dad to stand before Meg.
"Where's our father, Meg?"Dean questioned, his tone harsh.
"You didn't ask very nice."Meg said, her voice mocking.
Dean tilted his head and licked his lips."Where's our father, bitch?"
Meg's mouth popped open in fake surprise."Jeez. You kiss your mother with that mouth? Oh wait, I forgot, you don't."
Dean's face twisted in anger as he lunged slamming his hands onto the arms of the chair."You think this is a frigging game? Where is he?! What did you do to him?"He yelled into her face, rage clear in his voice.
"He died screaming. I killed him myself."Meg smiled, completely unaffected by the screaming. Dean looked at her with pure hate in his eyes. Suddenly, his hand connected with her face, a loud smack echoing through the room. She yelped and snapped her head back up to look at Dean."That's kind of a turn on – you hitting a girl. Do you fantasize about doing that to your precious Kat?"
"You're no girl."Dean hissed, clenching his fists tightly. Meg's eyes trailed from Dean to me and she smiled at my startled expression, winking when I looked from Dean to her.
"Dean."Dad snapped, standing up and moving into the other room. Dean stared at Meg for another second before following. Sam looked towards me as he walked over to join them. I didn't move though, didn't even lift my gaze from her.
"Like what you see, honey?"She smirked, her finger tapping in the arm of the chair.
I pursed my lips."Sorry but tramp isn't really my type."
"Harsh."She breathed out."Bet you're wondering about the crazy shit that's been happening, huh?"
I tensed and leaned forward to get closer to her."How the hell did you know about that?"
She laughed, throwing her head back before connecting her gaze back on me."He said all these great things about you, Katherine but I must say I'm extremely underwhelmed."
"Who?"I hissed.
She tilted her head and pouted."Don't tell me you haven't figured it out."
I opened my mouth to reply but the men walked back into the room making me jump back into the wall. Dean looked to me concerned when he saw my wide eyes but I shrugged him off, looking away to the window. Sam was holding a small book, leafing through the pages until he found what he was looking for. He looked to Dean who looked back at his brother before they both moved to stand either side of Meg.
"What are they doing?"I whispered to my father as he stopped beside me. He looked to me but tilted his head towards the brothers in a 'wait and see' motion.
"Are you gonna read me a story?"Meg mocked, looking to the book in Sam's hands.
"Something like that. Hit it, Sam."Dean ordered, his gaze not moving from Meg.
"Regna terrae, cantate deo, psallite domino.."Sam started to read off the page in Latin making Meg smirk up at Dean with disbelief and amusement in her eyes. Realization fell on me as I heard the ritual.
"An exorcism? Are you serious?"She asked, a laugh in her tone.
"Oh we're going for it, baby – head spinning, projectile vomiting, the whole nine yards."Dean replied.
"...tribuite virtutem deo."Sam continued. Meg flinched at the words a yelp escaping her lips. I looked to the brothers surprised. Meg looked over her shoulder at the younger Winchester.
"I'm gonna to kill you."She hissed, switching her eyes to Dean."I'm gonna rip the bones from your body."
"No, you're gonna burn in hell. Unless you tell us where our Dad is."Dean growled. Meg just smiled up at her, keeping her mouth shut.
"Well, at least you'll get a nice tan."I taunted as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incuriso infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, onmis congregatio et secta diabolica...."Sam continued to read the ritual. Meg began to shake in pain, trying to keep it from showing. Finally, she couldn't help the gasp that erupted from her throat. Sam paused as she looked up at us, her body continuing to shake.
"He begged for his life with tears in his eyes."She said through clenched teeth."He begged to see his sons one last time. That's when I slit his throat."
Sam started to read again as Dean lent down to get in Meg's face."For your sake, I hope you're lying. Cause if it's true, I swear to God, I will march into hell myself and I will slaughter each and every one of you evil sons of bitches, so help me God!"Dean snapped, his voice shaking with anger. The wind started to pick up in the room making pages of the books scattered around the room flap in the air. Meg cried out again causing Sam to pause once more."Where is he?"
"You just won't take "dead" for an answer, will you?"Meg asked, a sickening grin on her face.
"Where is he?!"Dean shouted.
"Dead!"Meg yelled back, her voice becoming more desperate.
"No, he's not! He's not dead! He can't be!"Dean yelled loudly, getting in her face. Sam had stopped chanting as we looked at Dean concerned. He was getting too angry and upset, letting his emotions cloud his judgment."What are you looking at? Keep reading."
Sam began to chant again, his voice shaking. Meg screamed in pain and suddenly, her chair jerked in the circle making me jump back."He will be!"She shouted, unable to contain herself as the pain intensified.
"Wait! What?!"Dean called out, stopping his brother.
"He's not dead. But he will be after what we do to him."Meg said, her breathing heavy.
"How do we know you're telling the truth?"I asked, looking to the brothers in urgency. I didn't trust at all but all of me wanted to believe her.
"You don't."Meg replied.
"Sam!"Dean snapped, urging for his brother to continue.
"A building!"Meg yelled out before Sam could utter a word."Okay? A building in Jefferson City."
"Missouri? Where, where? An address!"Dean yelled, pressing for an answer.
"I don't know."Meg exclaimed, her voice sounding strained and broken.
"And the demon – the one we're looking for - where is it?"Sam asked, stepping sideways to face her.
"I don't know! I swear! That's everything. That's all I know."She cried, her voice begging.
Dean stared at her for a moment before gritting his teeth."Finish it."
"What? I told you the truth!"Meg shouted, fear in her eyes as she glared at him.
"I don't care."Dean hissed, walking around the circle to stand behind her.
"You son of a bitch, you promised."She said, her voice harsh yet still holding fear.
"I lied!!"Dean growled loudly as he lunged forward to hiss in her ear."Sam?"He pressed when his younger brother hesitated. Sam didn't say anything making Dean look up at him."Sam! Read."
"Maybe we can still use her. Find out where the demon is."Sam whispered as Dean passed him.
"She doesn't know."Dean grumbled, shaking his head.
"She lied."I pointed out.
"Guys, there's an innocent girl trapped somewhere in there. We've go to help her."Dean said, looking between us. Dad walked into the room, his face grim.
"You're gonna kill her."Dad muttered.
"What?"Dean questioned with confusion.
"You said she fell from a building. That girl's body is broken. The only thing keeping her alive is that demon inside. You exorcise it – that girl is going to die."Dad explained. I bit my lip and looked to Meg, the black haze clouding around her as I stared. She looked up at me, smirking then switched her gaze around her as if she saw what I did.
"Listen to me, we are not gonna leave her like that."I whispered, shaking my head and coming to a decision. The cloud made it more apparent to me that there was a girl trapped inside somewhere.
"She is a human being."Dad snapped, looking to me shocked.
"And we're gonna put her out of her misery."Dean muttered, backing me up."Sam, finish it."Sam looked from my dad to his brother, unsure of what the right thing to do was."Finish it."Dean said a bit more forcefully. Sam took in a deep breath before nodding, continuing to read. Meg started to struggle again, grunts leaving her mouth. Her eyes flashed black as she threw her head back and screamed. Black smoke escaped her mouth and spread across the circle on the ceiling before disappearing. Meg's head dropped forward, blood dripping from her mouth.
I started forward but Dean caught a hold of my wrists topping me. I looked at him, my eyes pleading as his expression remained on guard. With a small nod from me, he let me go. I rushed forward to kneel beside the girl, my fingers reaching up to press against her neck. I could feel a slight flutter of her pulse."She's alive."I exclaimed as she started to lift her head."Call 911. Get some water and blankets."I instructed as I worked on untying her ropes. Dad ran out the room as the brothers helped me with getting her free.
"Thank you."She whispered, her voice thick with pain.
"Shh, shh. Just take it easy, alright?"I said gently.
"Come on. Let's get her down."Dean muttered softly. They started to lift her from the chair, being as gentle as they could. Meg cried out in pain, the sound of her bones crunching filling my ears.
"Sorry, sorry. I got you. I got you. It's okay. It's okay."Sam apologized. I scuttled along the floor to rest before them. Gently, the lowered her to the floor, her head resting in my lap.
"A year."Meg whispered, her voice strained. My fingers started to run through her hair in comfort.
"What?"Sam asked.
"It's been a year."She mumbled.
"Shh, just take it easy."I whispered reassuringly. Her eyes trailed upwards to lock with mine.
"I've been awake for some of it. I couldn't move my own body. The things I did – it's a nightmare."She told me, her voice becoming weaker and weaker. Her eyes filled with tears as I gazed down at her, a lump forming in my throat.
"Was it telling us the truth about our Dad?"Dean questioned.
"Dean."I hissed, disgusted that he was asking when she was in so much pain.
"We need to know."He said grimly before looking back down to her.
"Yes. But it wants... you to know... that... they want you to come for him."She said, starting to gasp for air.
"If Dad's still alive, none of that matters."Dean informed her, determination his his voice. Dad walked in with a blanket flung over his arm and a glass of water in his hand. He handed the glass to me as he started to cover her body. I gently lifted her head off my lap and placed the glass to her lips for her to drink. She coughed slightly as I pulled it away.
"Where is the demon we're looking for?"Sam inquired gently
"Not there. Other ones. Awful ones."She warned, swallowing thickly.
"Where are they keeping our Dad?"Dean questioned. Meg looked up at him, her breathing becoming irregular.
"By the river. Sunrise."She chocked out softly. Her eyes focused on Dean and I felt the lump in my throat grow, tears filling my eyes.
""Sunrise". What does that mean?"Dean questioned but Meg didn't reply."What does that mean?"
I brought a hand up to my mouth as a choked sob escaped my lips. The brother's looked up at me in shock but I avoided their gaze. Slowly, I brought my hand down to her face and gently closed her eyes. Meg had died. A year-a whole year she was a prisoner in her own mind being forced to do awful things. But after all of that, it was our hands that had caused her death. She had died in my arms.
