We rose early that morning and continued our journey. It was pouring with rain. I was cold and wet and miserable. But what was annoying me the most was Thorin. He hadn't said a word to me since the night before. I wanted to know what he would have said before he was interrupted by Fili's shout. I was mad at myself as well, cursing myself for allowing my emotions to control me. The all round irritation made the company keep their distance, I suspected Gandalf had warned them about the wrath of an angry Skin-Changer. I was pretty sure none of them wanted their heads ripped off. Even Bilbo stayed away, which saddened me, as his polite conversation would have made me forget my fury. I stayed in a brooding silence, my mind drifting from one black thought to the next. I didn't pay attention much for the rest of the day, barely registering the conversations that were going on around me.

We stopped later that day at a ruined farmhouse. Gandalf stormed off pretty much as soon as we arrived, yelling something about having enough of dwarves for one day. I knew how he felt, I was fed up of the ignorance and stupidity around me. Balin seemed to notice I was out of sorts and came over to me as I sat leant against a pile of timbers.
"You all right lassie?" He asked. I grunted irritably. Balin smiled at me and sat down beside me.
"It's Thorin isn't it?" He said. I was a little taken aback by his statement but replied all the same.
"How did you know?"
"Ah," said Balin, looking at me knowingly "I know Thorin Oakenshield better than I know myself and I know that he's as frustrating as anything at times. Give him a chance lassie and you'll learn to live with him in the end." Balin then got up and headed back towards the fire, where the other dwarves were serving up stew. Bofur, a funny dwarf with a funny accent came over and gave me a bowl, smiling happily. I glanced over at Thorin, who was staring darkly into the depths of the fire. His blue eyes were lit by the flames, making them sparkle strangely. He must have noticed me staring because he looked up at me with the speed and precision of a hunting hawk. I looked away swiftly, staring out into the night. I heard him get up behind me and begin to stride towards me. I heard Balin's voice whispering to Thorin urgently:
"Careful laddie, she isn't in the best of tempers." I grinned ironically for a moment before Thorin came and sat down beside me.
"Master Oakenshield," I said curtly, not even looking at him as he sat down.
"Eleana," sighed Thorin. He didn't sound angry, more upset. I looked around and gave him a quizzical glance.
"Balin said you were out of temper, I merely came to ask what was troubling you," he said politely. I let out a snort of laughter.
"You're joking," I said "You know full well why I'm out of sorts."
"Ah," he acknowledged softly "I thought it had something to do with me."
"Damn right it does," I replied coldly "Maybe it's the fact that you haven't spoken to me since yesterday or the fact that you have been ignoring me or even that I want to know what you were going to tell me last night but not being able to ask you." Thorin took this tidal wave of words quite well, politely waiting for me to finish my rant.
"Maybe it's that I've been ignoring you because of what I was going to say last night," he sighed. My train of thought stopped dead. I hadn't even contemplated this.
"Sorry," I murmured shamefully.
"Why are you apologising?" Thorin asked.
"Because I've been very cold and rude to you since you've sat down and hadn't even thought to contemplate why you were giving me the silent treatment," I said. Thorin gave me a brief smile, though as usual, the smile didn't go all the way to his eyes. The smile was still enough to set my heart pounding and the fire like sensation begin to spread inside me. He seemed to be about to answer when a wild shout echoed out through the night.
"Fili?" Thorin yelled back. Suddenly, Fili came crashing through the trees. Something was badly wrong...

Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated in a while.
This started off as a bit of a filler chapter but it actually turned out to be a bit of an emotional one for Thorin and Eleana *smirks happily*
I hope you guys enjoyed it, I'll fit in the next update as soon as I can.
