Gandalf was going to leave us. I could tell by the look in his eyes that it was urgent, there was something badly wrong. Despite this, I begged him not to leave.
"Mithrandir, you can't leave us!" I called as I dismounted. Gandalf broke off from his conversation with Bilbo and came over to me.
"I have to Eleana," sighed the wizard.
"But..." I trailed off as Gandalf raised a hand to silence me.
"I shall meet you upon the slopes of Erebor, don't enter the mountain without me," he said before mounting his horse and galloping off. The rest of the horses had already began to head back to the home that I was already missing. As I watched Gandalf disappear into the distance, the rain began.
Why does it always have to be rain? I thought to myself as we entered Mirkwood.

"Can I ask a question?" I asked as we walked along the the narrow path.
"What question do you wish to ask, Miss Eleana?" Dwalin called from somewhere near the front.
"I'd like to ask why Thorin is navigating when he got lost twice on the way to Bilbo's Hobbit Hole?" I laughed. All the dwarves let out a bout of chuckling.
"Good point lass," called Gloin.
"What's made of brass?" Asked Oin, who was somewhat hard of hearing. Aleron and I looked at one another before bursting into fits of hopeless laughter. Thorin looked around at the two of us and smirked ironically.
"Well, my lady," he said with a mocking bow "In regards to your earlier comment, if you have so little faith in my navigating skills why do you not lead our company yourself?" All the dwarves stared at me, Aleron grinned and Thorin still stared at me with that ironic smirk on his face.
"Excuse me lads," I said, pushing past Fili, Kili and Dwalin to get to the front of the company. Thorin stepped back with another mocking bow and allowed me to take the lead.

I lead for about half a mile before allowing Thorin to take over again.
"I think I've proved my point," I murmured in his ear as I went to join Aleron in the middle of the group. I noticed him glance back at me, a ghost of a smile passing across his lips.

After a while, the Sickness of the Greenwood began to effect the company. We were disorientated, constantly exhausted and arguing over the slightest of things. The last thing I remember was seeing Bilbo disappear up a tree before everything went black.
